A lot of people cant handle it here.Gray winters.Rain everyday.High suicide rates. But the spring, summer and falls make up for it.And it is also really green and beautiful here.I think it all balances out no matter where some one is.I was born and raised in Texas, and have lived all over the US and found good and bad things everywhere I went.Couldnt really say one place was better than the other.Allthough I been up here over 8 yrs and love it.This is home now.

Suprise! Igloo's in front of my house. Snow removal was never considered when we bought this house, it will be on the next though, unless we move to Florida. (maybe we could re-name this thread: psshhh!) | |

My halogen bulbs showed up Friday.. I ordered an extra one just in case but think the old one may ave just been done in by vibration. You would think they would have used agasket or something to dampen the rattle around the lamp housing. Oh well I'm pretty good making at cardboard silicone gaskets lol

watching the leaves fall Hey Gooch, the leaves have fallen.......in fact they're all in MY BACKYARD! Wanna join my raking party?? Plenty of Barques root beer and I can fire up the grille one last time, before I put it in the garage and use it for a heater.

see I never get around to all those little seasonal details.... Raking? I just run the mower around and shred them up into little pieces and then the wind comes ripping and blows them all into the woods down by the pond.. I love Barques... lemme get the ramps out and load the mower... |

Man, last weekend when it was 80 something I put my snow blower away for the summer, I also planted a bunch of flowers around the house. Its been snowing here since yesterday, and is supposed to continue until late tonight. I'm having a little trouble accepting summer was only 5 days. |

I would love for you to have some too...... as long as it and the cold air (blowing up your pantlegs and down your neck) needed to properly enjoy it are at least 1200 miles away from the balmy 70's that I prefer. |

If it ever snowed down here in S. FL...the people would flood the streets and loot the towns for fear that the world is ending! I remember in Nov. or Dec. it dropped to 48 and they had "Winter Blast 2004" on the 10pm news! I had a professor that told a story about when he was going to school. It was a tradition of the vocational tech instructors to 'give the business' to the incoming students. One of the favorite requests of the vo-tech instructors was to ask a student to across the school and get a bucket of steam.... ![]() -pedagogue
