Tool Time

Hey .. I mean this is the men's room right?

So I was thinking maybe we should be talking tools...

you know

your first...

the newest

the latest

the one you want that keeps getting away...

the one in your tool box that is worn out beyond it's life but you can't bear to toss it.

how bout tools you have but have never used...

or tools you have and don't know how to use...

who's first?

Oh man I can't even remember my first.

My newest/latest is a 72 piece air tool kit.

Its got everything...muwhahahahahahahahaha

Everything except an air drill, so I bought one of those seperate at the same time.

I've got more socket sets than I can count. Seems to be the standard gift to me when they can't think of another.

Just got a new 200mph leaf blower/sucker. Does that count? I dunno but its fun!

Hey T-2, I know how to repair those, if you ever need it, is that one a Graco?

And those air kits can be found on Ebay cheap, as well Sams Club I think.

This is not good *LOL*

I want I want I want...

OK master card Gooch did it.
ummm OK well that is why I don't have them now. The Matercard is still smoking.

I would like to take the welding course at the vo-tech and get some nice welding gear. Tig Mig Arc
Then I could do some nice custom work on my bike.
Would also like airbrush skills and tools. If the skills don't show up, my son has great skills and could use my tools to do my custom work *LOL*
Have a table saw and get many things done now that I didn't or couldn't get done before or as easy as I can now.
Need a dedicated metric socket set and wrenches. When you ride rice the ASE stuff just doesn't fit *LOL*

Have a few old old tools. Know how they work and to a degree how to work with them but don't use them. My great grandfather was a cabinet maker. My grandfather was a finish carpenter. Some of their old tools have made it to my shelf.

Have access to a lathe, bridgeport, and sand blaster. Having been a machinist for over 8 years, I know how to use them.

What I need most of all... Time
Time in the right place at the right timing.
Does Sear sell Time? *LOL*

What is that thing? No wait. Don't tell me I might think I need one.

My last purchase was a mini combo square for the tool belt and a pair of long handle nail cutter diagonal pliers I lost on a job up in Buffalo. ( I think what happened is they slipped out of my pouch while I was doing clean up and got rolled up in the shrink wrap that comes on the windows that we use to roll all the debris into).

My last oh "boy!" purchase was ..

I dunno how I ever managed to get any framing done before I had this...

I've zapped out more studs, molding, and finish trim in the last month than I think I ever did with a skill saw, and pencil..lol

My favorite tool is a rubber mallet. I use it every working day to check the tires on my truck. I've had it about 8 years. My father gave it to me. He died in 1998. When (if) I lose it I'll lose another bit of him. Hopefully I'll have it until I retire. He never trucked, always was fascinated by it.

I just donated my 12-volt air compressor to a church garage sale. It sold for $5. I hadn't used it in at least 10 years.

Thanks. Good thread.

Heres one of my wish list items, an all aluminum floor jack.
I saw one like this in the store last week, except it had flames on it, so of course I really need that one.

I cracked when Walmart had the flamed creeper and adjustable scoot seat set on sale last year.

Currently the most reached for tool in my belt is my five in one.

5-in1.More like a 1000-in-one.However the 5-in-one tool is out dated.Today,its the 6-in-one tool.

First...Ted, what the hell is a bull pen? Or do you mean ball peen, as in hammer?

Favorite tool...Jet 1442 wood lathe...nice to give 750-1000 dollar bowls as Christmas gifts and only have 20 bucks in them...plus a LOT of time.
