| Guest | Any Songs Out There That Makes You Feel Great That Your Sober Today? I wasn't sure if there was a place in the forums to post this so out of curiousity I decided to ask this question in my title Topic. Although this song doesn't sound like a related to alcohol style I love this song because the singer is singing about how he won't fall apart again. Maroon 5 Not Falling Apart Aside from it being about love everytime I listen to this song I picture how I was drinking myself to the point where I couldn't stop drinking. The bass at the start is quiet then it builds up to sort of a pump up, so the way they designed the song made me feel in the quietness of the song it shows me drinking and not caring about stopping then the pump up of the bass and guitar where he's saying I wont fall apart again, shows me sober today and being happy and grateful.... lol You'd understand more if you listened to the song. It's rock but not hard core BAHA BHA HB AHHHAHHAH ARGHHHH!!! ![]() lolSo give it a whirl. Listen to Maroon 5's Not Falling Apart then you'll see my description on how it fits lol. SO thats my post. Anyone have a song of motivation out there? Like me it doesn't have to be related to your drinking but some of the lyrics might help out in a song to help cope. Being an artist Im thinking of drawing some befores and now pictures and possibly posting it onto Youtube. But it'll take time so I'll keep posted on my work. Im going to blog this also. Can you ddo Youtube links upon blogging here? Latz my fellow comrades. |

I'd second tipping point on Not Afraid I've found that in certain moods, I really like songs ABOUT addiction, like Guns n Roses' Mr. Brownstone or The Postal Service's This Place is a Prison. |

I agree with the other posters about 'Not Afraid.' It's a great song for people in recovery. Pretty much any song on 'Recovery' is a good choice. For me a lot of punk rock songs help me with my sobriety. Anything that has a good beat and some lyrics that I can relate to. For example, I've been listening to Rise Against "Satellite" non-stop.

Young Homie by Chris Rene has been my jam recently. Cheesy but I love it! Also "Dirty Rain" by Ryan Adams is great. "Lua" by Bright Eyes is a very sad but tender song about addiction that makes me happy to be sober.

"I'm Straight" by Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers "Now I've watched you walk around here. I've watched you meet these boyfriends, I know, and you tell me how they're deep. Look but, if these guys, if they're really so great, tell me, why can't they at least take this place and take it straight? Why always stoned, like hippie Johnny is? I'm straight and I want to take his place. Oh I'm certainly not stoned, like hippie Johnny is. I'm straight and I want to take his place." |
