Me? Sobriety and a shotgun.

I disagree unless I'm missin somethin...this is a Mens Room topic. I love there is actually activity in this room. Now to the question... I love this June! Great Thread. Can't argue with the shotgun, can't fault that at all. Slugs or Buckshot? Obvious advantages / disadvantages to both. Consider this...in most Zombie movies they are fairly weak in that a shot takes em down. A slug to the head would take out any zombie for sure, but buckshot MIGHT take out more than one at once. That could be useful. Now are we talking a Romero Zombie, or a 28 Days/Weeks Zombie? My opinion is 28 changed the entire Zombie genre for the scarily better. I would consider a rifle over a shotgun. Distance shots may come in handy. Close quarters shotgun. If I could have two, .45 Glock and AR15.

Easy; M4A1, holographic sight with underslung M203 grenade launcher. H&K .45 pistol for back up. Oh and a cr@pload of ammo....

So no melee, then? Too risky with the splatter/ingestion factor. I might go with the good ol' kalishnikov AK, but the M203 is certainly a logical choice - multiple kill option. I think buckshot for the shotgun, unless it was a 410, then slugs. Sidearm? Good 'ol Beretta M9 9mm w/ extended law enforcement clip (12/1 chambered) For sending a lot of rounds down range REALLY quickly for suppression, I might go with an MP5 or the good old fashioned Israeli Uzi. |

A safe room and armored car are still typically your best bet. Right away though...you need to get rid of the person in the group that is in it for themselves and wants to go with their own plan. That guy (always a guy) will get a bunch of people killed. Although in 28 Days Later, when they got to the military base, that guy was the good guy. Usually it's a middle age balding guy with a whiny voice. Watch for him!

Also, take out the overly-religious nut job that thinks this is all God's wrath on a sinful humanity.

OH I have to agree, 28 days later zombies change the game.... If we are talking traditional zombies. A riot type shotgun and a nice simi-auto side arm. BTW, I have been working this, but its kinda fallen by the wayside. I need to get the glass etching done with "In case of Zombies break glass" and get the "guns" mounted (dont worry they are fake).

Sorry, guys, I'm on the other team.... the zombies make pretty good weapons in themselves I think :-D Too bad for your luck. We've got way more zombies than you've got ammo. _Revenant_ crumbling dusty remains of a long forgotten corpse lying in a shallow grave awaiting vengeance life taken to purify the evil in my soul the fragile body may be gone but evil still remains in the ground, in the air, in the night free of all physical boundaries and time life goes on around me unaware of the festering evil that will never die legacy of blind hatred channel of darkness flowing through me memories of past trespasses feed my wrath, make me be crumbling dusty remains will remain inert no more undead horror breaking free to claim vengeance life taken to satisfy the hatred in my soul lifeless bodies in my wake but evil still remains at my call feel the chilling wind of death skies turn black as I gather strength preparing to unleash the full fury of my soul to wash my death across the face of the world waiting in the dark for helpless victims crush their souls and salvage hate and pain recreate them animate the corpses send them forth legions of death |

HFA - That case is awesome. I love the idea of your etching with it! That is super cool. I agree with the bite checks. I was gounna write something about that. The person that gets all quiet, and kinda sits by themselves...has been BITTEN! Usually that person won't cause too much damage though. Goat - We don't have to defeat all the zombies. We just gotta outlast em. Think the average life of zombies are only a few days.

Break the zombie food chain, they wither and decay. Sorry, Goat, but out of mercy, if you started siding with the zombies, I would mercifully end you haha. (j/k - no disrespect!) You know what else ends zombies? Fire. Lots of it. Sooooo, another good idea would be to raid the Ag store for ammonium Sulfate, combine it with a little gasoline and coagulated styrofoam and BINGO! Napalm. Now if we can only find a few hundred wine bottles. We may run out of ammo, but it doesn't take much to build a raging inferno that will hold 'em off long enough to get to a self-sustaining yacht w/ a water purification system. I know where there's about 100 of them up here in the PNW. If we could convince Goat to come back to the human side, he could join us from Oregon and I think we could make a good survival team. We need a good metalhead wild card to draw the fire in a banzai run, only to reappear, unbitten and unscathed later on in the struggle lol Oh and Dee, thanks! I wasn't sure if it belonged here or not, but I guess it does! thanks! |

June...The water thing almost never works. They are either waiting for you wherever you land, or as in Land of the Dead, the Zombies will stop bein afraid of water and will come in. 28 Weeks Later there was a water escape, but only one person (and he became one of them later). My theory is to find a safe place and wait it out. Still...that won't work if it's not really solid, or if we don't have food / water. So I'd be open to leaving. Some of you freak me out with your knowledge of weapons...still it's a good thing to have in this situation.

Nobody commented on my Revenant lyrics... perhaps this one shows my side of it a little better: _Gaze into the Firelight_ with the coming of night heralding the end of life gaze into the firelight dreaming of the coming blight fields laid to waste, nothing remains cities decay, crumbling devoid of life, the stench of death perfumes the air, i breathe it deep i will ride, alone, unleashed when the world is mine, no light, no hate i will ride, unseen, unscorned witness the decay, return to earth with the coming of night heralding the end of life gaze into the firelight dreaming of the coming blight with the coming of the dawn signaling the world's rebirth gaze into the firelight consuming the wretched past free until my end, enslaved by none see them crying out, they beg and plead all to no avail, their world destroyed i call victory, alone i remain i will ride, alone, unleashed now the world is mine, no light, no hate i will ride, unseen, unscorned vengeance by my hand, no one survives | |

i would go with an ak47, have shot them many times and i love that gun. The 7.62 packs a good enough hit to work a zombie over, not to mention the 30 rnd mag. Reliability is key and you will not see an ak failing.

Didn't realize that was you Goat...cool. I am used to not being familiar with groups people are talking about so I figured it was a new band or something. When I googled it the lyrics came up. I still listen to a lot of the stuff from my high school days. Just listened to Suicidal Tendencies, Helmet, Ministry and Metallica. They are cool lyrics. Something I think I would have identified with more in my younger days. Despite what I wrote above...I'm usually more of a Country guy. Give me a Steele guitar and George Jones...nothin better to me. Guess I'm waaaay off topic here. In the absence of a firearm...give me a hockey stick and crow bar.
