| Tool "Fix"
Hello, I'm new to posting in this forum. I usually hang out in the Alcoholism forum. I'm a 35 year old recovering alcoholic/addict who is heading into a 4th year of sobriety. I really like tools, and I obsess over my workshop. I'm noticing a bit of a spending trend in my life, and I'm wondering if anyone else can relate. I usually joke or brag a bit about it..... but I seriously need to cool it on the purchases. My internet activity consists of much time spent on ebay, kijiji, and craigslist. I'm posting because I need to make my intentions known, to somebody, that I'm planning on taking a "break" from spending money on tools. I noticed I get a bit of a buzz from this actvity. I guess it could be compared to other shopping obsessions. In my defense, it is my hobby, and I'm financialy secure. My purchases havn't surpassed my ability to pay for them.....yet. My concerns are: 1) It has a scary potential to become a "replacement" of sorts, and it's starting to get a bit out of control. 2) I hide most of my purchases from my wife, and it's eating into our savings. I'm a "tool junkie"....can anybody relate? thanks, chip
