| It's OPENING DAY!!!
Well I was hoping I could get a couple tickets for the Red's opening day game but unfortunately procrastinated just a little too long. It is pretty cool that we're the only team in the MLB that gets to open every year at home. So I'm sitting at home watching the game but in way it isn't horrible because the weather here in Cincinnati is nasty. About 40 degrees with a drizzle of sleet coming down pretty consistantly but I can't help but think summer is right around the corner when the baseball season starts up. Hopefully the Red's can pull a wild card off this season its been too long since they have gone to the playoffs. They have a great young team with some decent pitching for ONCE. Anyways anyone else excited to see their respected teams starting up again?

Watched the cards cough up one in the ninth inning last night From the jaws of victory comes defeat. On a happier note, the Yanks lost

![]() It's always a good day when the Yanks lose. Yeah the Reds blew it yesterday as well but Johan Satana pitched a hell of a game for the Mets. Volquez pitches Wednesday though and he was very tough all last season. Hopefully we can still pull off the series.Anyone interested in getting a MLB Fantasy league together. We only need 8-10 members to start it up. I personally like the LIVE draft as opposed to ranking your players and having it done automatically but we'd need everyone that'd be interested to be on at the same time for about an hour and a half. Anyways if there are some people interested we could try and get it done sometime this weekend...

| Nope. Good ol' fashioned open air stadium. There was a bit of a debate around here regarding that. Too cold in April, too cold in October (assuming your team makes it to October). Weather happens everywhere. Delays, postponements, whatever. It's part of the game. Opening day here this year was very playable, and there were delays in other cities. Whatever. Weather happens everywhere. |

I'm glad, I didn't try to get opening day tickets here. It was in the 30's in St. Louis an rainy. Been to a few rainy opening day games. I was drinking then and didn't have any sense I had to sit through a rain delayed playoff game in 01. At least, the temps. weren't bad for St. Louis in Oct. an, I was sober

I am from Toronto so once again there isn't much to look forward to in baseball. We haven't done well since Labatts owned the team back in the 90's.

Come on up Captain. It won't be hard to get a real good seat. We even pay a premium on US dollars and have placed a Starbucks on every corner to make all of the American tourists welcome. All casino winnings are tax free and if we know you are coming to see your favorite team a win is probable unless our Ace is pitching.

Captainzing2000, I'm a Cubs fan and I am counting ![]() Try being in recovery and a Cubs fan! But seriously, I hate the Cards from a rivalry perspective but I think they've always been what a franchise should be. So they are the only one of my 4 Cub rivals that I root for to win for the NL when they get to the Series. The others being the Mets - still hate them for 1969 when I was young and impressionable and the Padres for 1984. Oh yeah, the 4th one is the White Sox...just because they are the White Sox, that's enough. JAD, congrats on getting back to outdoor baseball next year. Now you guys need to work on getting the Vikings outside again. Back in the day teams (other than us cold weather guys like the Bears and that other team that plays somewhere up in northern Wisconsin used to be afraid to go to Minnesota after about mid-November. But when you went indoors you lost that part of your home advantage. What would the real Vikings from 100's of years ago say if they knew about the dome? Actually, on second thought, what am I saying? As a Bears fan I say stay indoors and let the warm weather teams feel comfortable coming in. Should be a fun year now that we have a QB. Now only if Cutler had a couple of real WR's to through to. |

Grew up watching the cards play ball. I'm an hours drive from St. Louis. Not a real big fan of the way Tony plays base ball though. I liked it better when Herzog was managing. Speed never slumps. Nothing better then watching the stolen base.

Albert's a stud I was down in Jupiter his rookie year. He wasn't even supposed to make the club that year. Booby Bonilla had a pulled hamstring so, they used Albert at third base. Albert gets up to bat hits a ball out of the stadium and hits the office building outside the stadium. There was a cleaning lady outside the building, she see's that, ball coming at her and boy, did she scramble out of the way. I'm going May 16 to watch a game. Kind of a wait and see how the economy is before, I make up my mind on other games. Not sure about all the base ball town and ticket sales but, after last year, this year has plenty of seats left for games. Especially, the club boxes with the all you can eat and drink. I used to get my money's worth when, I drank and got the club boxes. $90.00 bucks is a lot to pay for an all you can eat and soda!!
