Nice looking site. This is my first post......and not sure if I am posting in the right place? I am a mess. My girlfriend is in a 6 week recovery place, she is on week four. She phones today and everything is going good etc. She states that she doesn't think that her drug and alcohol problem is that bad!!! She only uses when.etc. etc.? I do not no what to say or do. Need some advice. I am going nuts! I have been sober one year on the 15th.

Well no women will (or are supposed to) post in here, so if you want a female perspective you should probably post under F&F or alcoholism forums.

Welcome and congratulations on your sobriety.

So she thinks her drug and alcohol problem isn't that bad. Maybe it isn't, compared to some of the other people in the treatment center with her; but it was bad enough to land her in there, right?
I would start by pointing that out to her.
You don't go to a 6 week inpatient program because you smoked a joint at a party!

She's been there four weeks and it sounds to me like she is still very much in denial and she already setting the stage for using again, "I only use when ---". She rationalizing her usage.

Given your experience as a recovering alcoholic, you know the BS and your right to be worried. I see Red Flags flying everywhere and I'm just your garden variety drunk.

Can you speak with a director or therapist at the center about your concerns?
