| Mini Van Rant!!
Whats the deal with mini vans? Why is it that when Im sitting at a red light and a mini van pulls up next to me, if there is a male drive they invariably play race the Harley when the light turns green? Even more amusing than that is the guy on the highway that speeds up to pass, pulls in front and slows down. Why?:wtf2

You ever drive a minivan? If you get the chance to, you will know the answer. They just want to feel they are anyplace but in a minivan *LOL*

The guy you talk of that speeds up to pass and then slows down sounds like something I do on occasion. I do live in Georgia though where there are a lot of hills. Cops like to sit right behind hills. If I'm passing someone and approaching a hill at the same time I will slow down afterwards (at first) until I get far enough over the hill to where I can see there are no cops. Then, assuming there was not a cop waiting to clock my speed, I will resume the same speed that I passed you at...perhaps even faster (depending on how far I can see). Of course the only time I am ever in the left lane is when I am passing someone; therefore making it impossible for me to be categorized into the group that is pissing you off....but I was bored so I thought I would comment. |

reminds me of the gym commercial where the dude was working out and getting all jacked and then over the loudspeaker comes "if you have the tan mini-van in the parkling lot, your lights are on....the tan mini-van" ha

Many years ago after my divorce the ex took the Honda Civic, that was paid off and I got stuck with Dodge Mini Van and it's payments. It didn't take me long to run to the nearest dealership to trade it in for a P/U. |

Sorry mimi vans and 4x4's if driven by men are for cissy boys and i don't mean this in a homophobic at all as a cissy boy, so i am told, by my gay pal is kind of like a fag's fag! UNLESS it is being driven for a purpose, e.g. like Time2Surrender with quad bikes, living on a 50 acre farm, having 5+ children etc. You know practical things. If a 4x4 is driven by a woman it is because they feel safe in it and they are higher up than all the other road users. This is great for them but not so great when you are having a lovely walk in the sunshine and some bitch with her 2.4 kids and bull bars smacks into you at only 40kph and shatters every bone in your body! As you lie there bleeding out you can take solace in the fact that at least her kids are ok! Mini vans are for carrying things to and from a place that would not fit into a normal vehicle and 4x4's are for off road use, hence why they are 4x4s |

As a confession(there seems to be alot of that on this site!!), I was seduced by the Dark Side of the Mini Van Force. I, too, first cringed at the thought of getting one(I had a Mustang Convertible and a pickup at the time) but neither suited my new title of fatherhood. Even with just our first child, I began to really think it was the most practical thing to do. I liked sitting higher and seeing the road. NOt only that, I could take out all the seats and transport large things that wouldn't get wet or subejct to theft if left in the van. ANd it was faster than my pickup! Now with 4 kids, I can't do without one. And yes, I still drive it without any of the kids in it. I guess I'm a masocist and really dig that Anti-Cool feeling I get when I drive that box! |
