Yes, I obsessed over my HS sweetheart for over 20 years.

During the demise of my marriage, and after the separation, we got back in touch. We were E-mailing daily. Turns out she had married and then divorced. She also had obtained her Masters in psychology. (She always was a smart girl). And how did she make her money ? She worked as a stripper !!!! I dunno where your tastes lie, but that seemed seemed to attract me !

I drove to Santa Barbara on occasion and had a couple of great days with her. We talked, reminisced, walked on the beach (her condo was 1/4 mile from the bluffs) etc. We never did the dirty, though.

We continued to talk, and eventually we discussed re-kindling our High School romance. I was in 7th heaven I tell you. One day, I didn't get an E-mail back. Then it was two days, then a week. I sent a Friend of hers asking about her where-a-bouts. She E-mailed back "Ty, I'm so sorry. Rose was found dead in her condo last week......."

That ate me alive for the last few years of my drinking. It wasn't until I found AA, and did the steps (specifically 4 and 5) that I was able to make amends and let her go.

I used to have recurring dreams about her, they have gone. I have fond memories, but no longer obsess over her.
