Anyone else read the May 08' Playboy article about Chris Farley? - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

It was quite a long article and I just got done reading it, and it is quite hard-hitting reading about how someone who I really enjoyed watching in movies and on SNL also seriously battle with addiction, and how he affected all of his friends and family. Like I have my own, but different addiction struggles. He ultimately lost his battle, and as I sit here, I really don't want to lose mine. Really good article.

Playboy has articles? *LOL*

I don't read Playboy any more. Seemed to stop reading it right around the same time I stopped the drinking. I always would read the articles that explained how things worked (self improvement stuff). Was never one for reading the deep articles such as tha one or the political ones.

heh i got an e-mail from camel offering me a free digital subscription....i think they sent me two e-mails too but i couldn't find anyone who wanted the other one....so i think it got lost in the mix

closes eyes in agony, I read it cuz it is a great article about someone really struggling with addiction no matter how life is, and the people who cared for him and how they felt.

In all seriousness, I'll rep Playboy for the quality of their articles.

Remember this: Shel Silverstein really got his start drawing and writing for Playboy, both before and after "Where the Sidewalk Ends".

I wish I'd seen that article-- I loved Chris Farley's work, and I'll bet the story of his battle is engaging. Maybe I'll pick up a copy after work today, though I'll have to admit...it'll depend on who's on the cover.
