Yup, LA Kings - so I am sitting this year out, again. Cant go for quackers by principle. I have Montreal and San Jose in the final. Though - Pitt looked good last night.

Major hockey fan. Been a Flyers fanatic since I was a boy (started watching when the Broad Street bullies were in charge). Montreal would be my second favorite and any Canadian team (except the Leafs) after that. Glued to the TV |

Never put you as a Flyer's fan Grav - but I guess there was a certain allure to Clarke, Shultz and company. Gotta love the Ducks getting hammered last night, made my day. You ever get to watch junior games up in Thunder Bay or the like? I have a pretty cool picture of my brother mooning the rink in Dryden Ontario with the giant picture of Chris Pronger on the side of it

Hey sugErspun, I live closer to Winnipeg than Thunder Bay. I take my kids to the occassional AHL game in Winnipeg (Vancouver farm team). I get to a handful of NHL games during the regular season, usually Toronto or Ottawa (work travel/perks). I kind of follow the players from the Thunder Bay, Northwestern Ontario, Winnipeg areas - the Staal brothers, Mike Richards, Jonathan Toews, Jonathan Cheechoo, etc. I love watching aggressive hockey, not dirty hockey - not a Pronger fan, was not impressed with the Flyers early in the season (dirty play, suspensions). So as a Kings fan, when they are out do you kind of default to the Sharks? Good series so far (going for the Flames of course). Nabokov is really something else. D |

In the west I default to Calgary - the team of my youth (I was a huge Lanny fan when I was younger), and right now I think Jerome Iginla is still the best player in the league - so I am pulling for them...(plus we had Conroy for a couple of seasons down here). I do like the sharks - it would be nice to see them and the quackers play each other, so if the Flames bow out - I have another Western Conference team to root for. I agree with the tough vs dirty - I have played with both. Dirty players are just plain scary to be on the ice with... I got to about 20 games this season (family has had season seats since before Gretz came to town), and I did some work for the team for a number of years - where I pretty much watched every Kings home game from the glass..never a cup though,..oh well. I did get to meet a lot of my heroes, including Lanny (when the All Star game was in LA), Lemieux, Gilbert Perrault, all those guys - I even have the jersey I was wearing that night (my name on the back, kings white) signed to me by Mr Hockey himself - framed up with the brochure from the game (he was there for a puck drop) - Hockey players stay pretty personable when they become famous, it's amazing.

It's getting good- real good. Ducks are gone, makes it so much more fun to watch. Canadiens-Flyers, great series (how about the Kostopolous cheap shot??) Rangery-Pens - I think that next game in New York is gonna be great, things are really heating up and Jagr has been nullified. I love this time of year.
