| Lightning Bugs!
Yay! I finally got to see them.... aren't they incredible little creatures! At first, I thought I was hallucenating... little points of light just rising up off the grass. But it was those cuties. I am sitting in my hotel room in Columbus, Ohio, waiting for my friend to come play in the hotel pool, then I catch my plane back to the left coast later today. This was a business trip, combined with a visit to see a friend. I haven't relaxed so much in a very long time. The business part was a bit of a bust... but I got to write off my vacation! Now, THAT was fine! This part of Ohio is very pretty... lots and lots of trees (I love trees). Coming from the Pacific Northwest, I am used to the green, and feel right at home. The lack of mountains is a little different... but the lightning bugs and LIGHTNING make up for that. You know, we get lots of drizzling rain, but we seldom get storms. Now this humidity thang? Oh. My. God. How do you folks STAND this? I am so not used to being able to SEE the air because of moisture!! Oooooooohhhhhhhh! I'm melting....melting... oh, you wicked little brat! You'e melted me....! Ok, just a little Margaret Hamilton sneaking in. But I've got my ruby slippers (and they look like New Balance running shoes) and I am heading home later this afternoon. Christy - I will WAVE to you from overhead.... look for me!

Hey, BigSis, Glad you got a vacation! ![]() Lightening bugs are really cool. Oh, and I've always lived near the ocean, so, humidity is a natural to me. And it's ALWAYS uncomfortable! LOL! Sorry your business didn't work out, but, you sure did make lemonade out of the lemons. Good for you! ![]() Have a safe trip home. Thanks for letting us know how it's going. Shalom!

Glad you had a good time here in Ohio. Lightning bugs are pretty cool, When we were kids we did all sorts of crazy things with them, like make rings, colonies in jars etc. LOL Poor little critters never had a chance. As for the weather, ICK is definately a good word, I lived in texas for a while and it would get to 120 or above.....no biggie though, the humidity was NOT like it is here!!!! My vegie garden sure has been enjoying it though. Good ole Ohio, the weather changes with the wind. Its Nasty humid in the summer and freezing in the winter!!!!! It is beautiful in the spring and fall though, trees and flowers coming to life in the spring and all the different colors in the fall. Hope you have a safe flight home. Liss |
