I hate the dentist

I wish all doctors would stay away from any part of me that has an opening.

This root canal is killing me.

Any one feel like egging the rich doctor's car.
I'd laugh while we did it but OOOOOOOH it hurts when I do. Bad Dentist, Bad Man.

I didn't even know my body had a root. What am I a friggin plant.
What the fuzzies up with that.

You are both crazy. They put all there fingers in your mouth. Wait till you get a root canal. Motrin stinks. I'd be better off taking Baby Asprin. I'd like to rub some Jack Daniels on it, but I guess thats out of the questio. Ha.

It just aches. and its getting swollen. I'm gonna claim I was allergic to the stinky dentist fingers and get me a law suit.

Its probably infected and NOW I GOT TO GO BACK. POOOOOOOOPPPPY

He was an endon whatever. The procedure was fine. It was done on Monday. It still hurts. I called and they said it would be sore till next week. Stupid boss made me go to lunch today and I sucked on some mashed potatoes. And tried to eat. Now it really hurts.

Yuck! I hate the dentist too Once, it's so scary. I went all the way to Poland for 2 fillings rather than wait for an NHS dentist. The trip gave some consolation but the treatment itself was horrific - no judgement on Polish dentists, I'd say the same about ANY dental treatment. Phobic about it!

At least it's over and done with now hon. I always feel on top of the world when I leave a dentist. I think 'Yaaaayyyy!' it'll be ages before I need to go through that again! It's DONE!!!

So that's good. You've got it out of the way now and it'll be ages before you need to go through that again! The worst is over now! Glad for you!

Blimey, I hate needles, I hate being in hospital, I hate seeing doctors... Oh GOD I AM SCARED OF CHILDBIRTH! It sounds horrific! I wonder what the chances are that I can go through this pregnancy without ever having a needle in my arm or having to undress on front of a doctor... Childbirth doesn't hurt right? Whew! Thank God for that! I was worried there for a moment!

*sobs!

I love my dentist...but he is never glad to see me. I don't know if it is related to tolerance built over the years, but he can't keep me numb. I was in the dang chair for SEVEN hours once for a root canal...got it open and exposed, then couldn't get me numb again to finish.

After 19....yep NINETEEN shots, he looked at me and said, WHAT? Is it running out the back of your head?

Then a light dawned... I woked up in the middle of my tonsillectomy when I was five, woke up when they lanced my ears (they didn't used to use ear tubes) when I was five, woke up in the operating room when I was 30, woke up in the hallway to recovery five years later.... I metabolize the stuff too fast!!

So now, he uses different combinations of drugs, and that helps. Also stays away from epinephrine based stuff, and told me I also had "extra" or "auxillary" nerves that grow helter skelter in my mouth (not all that uncommon).

I wouldn't give him up now - he's the only one who knows the combination of anesthetic that gets me out of the chair in less than an hour!

I am sorry you are so damned uncomfortable.... anti inflammatory stuff helps me best ... advil or other ibuprofen.

((((OnceNice)))))

rofl - sorry sis, I know that must have been horrible for you but it's just the way you put it! Glad to hear you've got a good dentist. If I ever find a dentist that 'knows' me that well and makes me comfortable I'd stick with him forever. Even if I could get listed with a UK dentist (there aren't enough of them) I couldn't for years as they'd have seen me on the news on tv going to Poland for dental treatment and criticising the UK dental system. Nobody else would've noticed it, it was like 3 minutes but dentists are bound to notice these things and I don't like pain!

Something odd I've noticed, I'm prob being really boring here but in the UK they use small amounts of painkiller and do it slowly so the injections don't hurt much. In Poland they just whack the needle in and it hurts like Heck but they use so much anasthetic that the treatment itself is entirely painless.

All in all I prefer the way the Polish dentists work. If they could just be a bit more gentle in the early stages! I don't know what anaesthetic they use but it wears off in about 45 minutes as opposed to about 3 hours for the UK dentists.

German dentists are the best ever tho. They are gentle and professional and it's virtually painless. Well in my experience anyway. I haven't had a lot of dental work but I was raised in Germany and live in England and I find it cheaper and quicker to travel to Poland for any dental work. It's like 30 for the flight and 20 for the treatment compared to almost 200 and an 18 month waiting list in England.

Wow Sis! You woke up in an operation? Oh God! That must've been AWFUL! I hope you don't need an op again. I've never had an operation. Then again if I take cough medicine or hay-fever tablets I almost drop unconscious within minutes and sleep for a whole day! That's why I never take painkillers. You must be a really strong person to be so resistant. At 5 years old tho I'd be inclined to blame the anaesthetist. Thats a disgrace for a child to go through that.

(((((Rose)))))
at least the worst is over now and it'll be ages before you need to go through that again. I hope you feel loads better soon! xxxx
