violence in my town

We have been having a lot of murders here in my beautiful, used to be quiet good place to raise your kids town..yesterday a 20 yr old shot and killed at a playground I played at alot when I was 10-11 yrs old. We had a 16 yr old shot and killed one block from our hospital..in an alley...another shot driving by a crack house and many others around town............I am furious!! They say the bloods and crips are here.I don't give a crap what they call themselves..they are vile, evil, disgusting murdering bully's! and I want my city back!! I just need to quit watching the news..or DO something about this....we're about a town of 30,000 or so.........wondeful parks, very nice people here...it's lovely.....til these gang bangers thought they'd move in.............there has to be SOMETHING we can DO besides cry, besides holler and yell....some action to halt this madness. My kids get so angry I won't let them go to the parks alone.....you can't!

I am just sick this morning..my son was already assaulted at the public school..had a concussion the first of this school year! and the high school is is supposed to be the best around. we supposedly live in the 'respectable' side of town..tell anyone you live in southside..and they are like oh you live in the NICE part!....it doesn't matter...violence spreads everywhere, leaves nothing untouched when not halted and adressed immediately..I am off to write a letter..to the editor of our paper, our mayor..and our rep capelli..he sent me a letter with a picture of me and my son that was in the paper! LOL..my husband thought I was having an affair with him..I guess he just likes people according to my neighbor who knows him and he sees something he likes he lets the person know. anyways.....have a great day ya all...............pray for all the vistims of gang violence and that we find a solution to stop the madness.

*Hugs*

I'm really sorry about what's happening in your city Tammie. I am very fortunate to live in a sleepy town where it's safe to walk around alone at night even. I'll pray for the kids' who are victims and the bully's too. Sorry your boy has been picked on.
hugs annie

2stop,

I share your frustration. The same thing is happening in my area, and is absolutely horrible where my brother and his little daughter live. Every weekend they hear gunshots at night.

Whatever happened to Mayberry?
