Stupid question.

I have a stupid question.

My son wants to know what the AM and PM after a time mean.(ex. 7:00 am/ 7:00 pm), and I don't know the answer. Can anyone help me?

LOL,

My son just stood here as I explained it and made this goofy face for a few seconds, then in a monotone voice said "I don't get it".

Oh well, such is the work of a mom.

Thanks for the answer Margo and susane.

Karmabella and T2S, I hope you get it and it wasn't all for naught. lol

You might tell your son that in almost all other countries and in the military a 24 hour clock is used to avoid the confusion.
If you say it is 6 o'clock in Germany that means in the morning (am) but six o'clock at night would be the 18th hour/1800 (eighteen hundred) hours military.
