Hey Gabs...Alli Pm'd yesterday, to say that we've sucked her in to the "John Club". Yay! Another member for the cult...ouppps...I mean club and Alli? Gabe, always looking to expand my musical horizons...sent me this one...that just begs to be posted..."Collied" by Howie Day. We're stepping outside the John box here ladies...Also, while I'm at it Gabe, what do you get when you put Santana with Chad Kroeger (Nickleback)? The song I can't stop playing...over and over "Why Don't You and I"...now, if only I had someone to dedicate it to...hmmmmm...Much love to all...Artist: Howie Day Album: Stop All The World Now Title: Collide The dawn is breaking A light shining through You're barely waking And I'm tangled up in you Yeah I'm open, you're closed Where I follow, you'll go I worry I won't see your face Light up again Even the best fall down sometimes Even the wrong words seem to rhyme Out of the doubt that fills my mind I somehow find You and I collide I'm quiet you know You make a frist impression I've found I'm scared to know I'm always on your mind Even the best fall down sometimes Even the stars refuse to shine Out of the back you fall in time I somehow find You and I collide Even the best fall down sometimes Even the wrong words seem to ryhme Out of the doubt that fills your mind You finally find You and I collide You finally find You and I collide You finally find You and I collide... Why Don't You and I... Santana with Chad Kroeger Since the moment I spotted you Like walking round with little wings on my shoes My stomach's filled with butterflies Ooh and it's alright Bouncing around from cloud to cloud Got the feeling like I'm never gonna come down If I said I didn't like it then you'd know I'd lied ooooh And everytime I try to talk to you I get tounge tied turns out Everything I say to you Comes out wrong and never comes out right So I'm singing Why Don't You and I get together We'll take on the world and be together forever Heads we will, tails we'll try again And I'm singing Why Don't You and I get together And fly to the moon and straight on to Heaven 'Cause without you they're never gonna let me in When's this fever gonna break I think I've handled more than any man can take I'm like a love sick puppy chasing you around Oooh and it's alright Bouncing around from cloud to cloud I got the feeling like I'm never gonna down And if I said I didn't like it then you'd know I'd lied Oooh And everytime I'd try to talk to you I'd get tounge tied turns out Everything I say to you comes out wrong and never comes out right So I'm singing Why Don't you and I get together Let's take on the world and be together forever Heads we will and tails we'll try again So I'm singing Why Don't You and I get together We'll fly to the moon and straight on to Heaven 'Cause without you they're never gonna let me in Slowly I begin to realise that this is never gonna end and the moment you walk by it's like oh here we go again oh So I'm singing Why Don't you and I get together We'll take on the world and be together forever Heads we will and tails we'll try again And I'm singing Why Don't You and I get together And fly to the moon and straight on to Heaven 'Cause without you they're never gonna let me in...

Lizzy Babe, I have Howie playing in my office as I type this. And Chad Kroeger, well...he is also on my freebie list. Hero Chad Kroeger and Josey Scott I am so high. I can hear heaven. I am so high. I can hear heaven. But heaven, no heaven, don't hear me. And they say that a hero can save us. I'm not gonna stand here and wait. I'll hold onto the wings of the eagles. Watch as they all fly away. Someone told me love will all save us. But how can that be, look what love gave us. A world full of killing, and blood-spilling That world never came. And they say that a hero can save us. Im not gonna stand here and wait. I'll hold onto the wings of the eagles. Watch as they all fly away. Now that the world isnt ending, its love that I'm sending to you. It isn't the love of a hero, and that's why I fear it won't do. And they say that a hero can save us. Im not gonna stand here and wait. I'll hold onto the wings of the eagles. Watch as they all fly away. And they're watching us. (Watching us) They're watching us. (Watching us) As they all fly away. |

I love that one Gabs...I found the Jonny Lang song we were talking about...it's downloading as I type! I think I'll need the tissues for that one...never enough tissue in my house these days...allergy season...among other things ...Right now I'm listening to "Smoke Baby" by Hawksley Workman...They're a Canadian band and they're amazing...the lyrics to this one are depressing...but it's soooo gooood...the beat is extremely catchy..here's the chorus...just to give you an idea of what I mean about depressing...Smoke baby, smoke baby More alcohol baby Cocaine in Montreal And back out on a plane baby An early flight will leave And on it will be me I'll be half asleep And you'll get up at three...

OMG!!! Howie Day Rocks!!!! My A turned me on to him just over a year ago and I can't get enough of the kid! I'm so thrilled to actually "find" someone other than my A who's heard of him! "Ghost" is the song that I first heard....very poignant to my A...and me.

I've read so much about "Joan of Arcadia" here but have yet to see an episode. I did hear a Howie Day tune on some other t.v. program (not sure which one it is now) and I was so excited he was getting some airtime. I've yet to hear any of his music on any radio station except for online alternative stations. Hopefully, the word will spread! |

Lizzy Babe, Howie is making me break a sweat here. I'm only posting the first half of this song, it's long. I’ll Take You On ~Howie Day Make me fall down Make me get up And if I’m alright Make sure I’m scared to death Maybe I’m useless If I could just remember Make me feel nervous and I’ll make you surrender I’ll take you on Yeah, I’ll take you on I’ll give it all away But you don’t But you don’t I’ll give it all away But you don’t feel much better You said it yourself You said I’m not ready I’m telling myself But it’s not sinking in Maybe I’m new at this Or is it just your reaction Be my illusion and I’ll be your distraction I’ll take you on I’ll take you on "Make me feel nervous and I'll make you surrender"..."Be my illusion and I'll be your distraction." *SIGH* Gabe needs to go turn the air conditioner on. |

Who’s the big loser? Alli’s the big loser!!! I finally get around to checking into Howie Day, BTW he’s a yummy young man, and I link onto a fan club website only to see that he was playing about 20 minutes from me at one of my favorite clubs on Wednesday night. I had my hair done on Wednesday afternoon, I would have looked so pretty too!!

You took the words right out of my mouth, SWC! Who is an attractive female singer/songwriter for PUM?

OK, I like girls for their talent, not just their looks. I like Sheryl Crowe, Alanis Morrissette, Amy Grant, Fiona Apple and my latest favorite ... Norah Jones.

I'll concur w/Norah Jones. REALLY like Melissa Etheridge too (NOT in "her way" though). Awesome songwriting. However, since Howie is too young for me, I'll take Rob Thomas (Matchboxtwenty) ANYDAY!!! |

| Re: Collide... I meant to bring my entire CD case up into the office w/me today and noooooo, brain-dead me left it in my car and I'm too lazy to go downstairs and get it. I have 3 Howie CDs...his 1st which is Australia, another (don't remember what it's called) that has only 6 songs on it but also has DVD and of course, his most recent. I'll admit I haven't listened to the last 2 too much (bought a bunch of different CDs at once so have only gotten through them a couple of times)...but now I'm in such a Howie mood!!! I have a tremendously busy weekend....methinks come Sunday, Mother's Day, when all is peaceful, Howie is the plan of the day (after the Dodger game on t.v. of course!) while I perhaps read, work on self, etc. It's MY day! |

Yuppers, me and Howie. I imagine the older daughter will hang w/the b/f and his family...no reason for me to make her stay home. The little one will probably hang around home, I don't want to let her interfere w/another friend's family and their festivities. Perhaps she can play w/the neighbor kid and give me a little peace? |

SWC...yup, mother's day with Howie would be heaven...I think in my house though, it would be hard to hear him over,"Mom...Mom...Mom...Mom...Mom..." Well, you get my drift ...I think for mother's day this year, I'm gonna run away from home. Quacker Jack my sweet dammit doll, and I are planning the "Great Escape"...we'd steal away quietly in the night...only my face would be on a milk carton by morning...Hey Alli? About the Howie thing? :slap: smarten up! Sorry...I just love that smiley...I'm gonna be slapin' everyone all over the place now! Pooooor Pum...have we left you out of the loop with all our naughty girl talk? We're sorry...really. ...Norah Jones though, I can appreciate. I love her voice...she's no Ella...but man can she carry a song...My fav is "Come Away With Me"...know it? Much love...Norah Jones - Come Away With Me Come away with me in the night Come away with me And I will write you a song Come away with me on a bus Come away where they can't tempt us With their lies I want to walk with you On a cloudy day In fields where the yellow grass grows knee-high So won't you try to come Come away with me and we'll kiss On a mountaintop Come away with me And I'll never stop loving you And I want to wake up with the rain Falling on a tin roof While I'm safe there in your arms So all I ask is for you To come away with me in the night Come away with me

I really think I'll only have the 10 year old at home on Sunday unless, like I said, she plays w/the next door neighbor (they don't tend to do much of anything on "holidays"). I'm not gonna let her nag the other playmates' families. She's one of those "Mom! Mom! Mom!" types as well...and, the 'puter at home is "down" so I can't even let her entertain herself w/Nick Jr. or Disney.com for a couple hours. Fortunately, she plays well w/her dolls so if all else fails...then again, she loves Monopoly and I have my Dodger Monopoly game...I can do that! Dinner will be leftovers, maybe something simple like popcorn, or eggs and tater tots. I busted my hiney cooking for my mom and grandma last year...NOT lifting a finger this year...my day to be a BUM!!! :laugh2: |

Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom, Mom... Yeah, I get that drift. Lizzy Babe, does he hijack your music? So far, mine has hijacked everything of mine except Springsteen, Five For Fighting and the new two (Howie and Jonny). But I know he has his eye on the Five For Fighting CD. However, I growl at him when he tries to put it in his CD case, so...so far it's still mine. Gabe |

Yeah Gabs...he's starting to appreciate my music more...it's kinda weird. Yesterday "Go Your Own Way" by Fleetwood Mac came on in the car...and he said ouhhh...turn it up, I love this song. I was like Ahhhhh...he does have good taste like his momma. He thought it was a new song. I had to explain to him that I'd been shoving Fleetwood Mac down his throat, since he was a baby...as my mom did before me. Another generation grabs the "Mac"...almost makes me teary ...
