Hi Im Sharon and Im an Alcoholic. The first time I went camping was when my son was in scouts. Every year there was family day with the scouts that last from Friday to Sunday. Setting up tent Friday afternoon to beginning ceremonies to first night sleep, to early morning coldness, to breakfast on the grill, the smell of fresh coffee brewing, to a day filled with activities, to and evening bon fire and entertainment from the scouts and Indian Ceremonial dance. Award Sunday and finally return home to a clean bath and comfy bed and FOOD.....lol Back in the day i couldnt wait to get home to have a strong drink that i had missed that weekend. Anyway,,,,that was my experience with camping. Today after my husband and I finish adding a higher white fence to our back yard, i was thinking of getting a tent and camp out in the backyard...lol Have the pit and fire and of course all the comforts and conviences right here at home.....esp. the Bath- room...lol No Porta Pottys. Where would u like to go camping? Share your imaginery camping experience or the real mccoy with us. Go for it and have fun.

I'm a wuss about the cold, and I like to camp in the high country vs. the desert so it'll be a couple more months before it's warm enough to start camping and hiking again. Camping used to be about drinking, but thank God those days are long behind. Now it's about enjoying some quiet time with my children and fiance, enjoying the outdoors and the sounds and smells of nature. I like the meals too, nothing like cooking something over a fire or in a dutch oven. Now ya got me itchin' to go camping. At the end of the month I'll be doing an all-night astronomy "marathon" out in the desert, but that ain't exactly camping. I'll just throw a sleeping bag in the back of the car for a quick nap
