It doesn't have to an amazing cruise around the Bahamas. It can be camping an hour from where you live. I just thought it might be a good topic. Personally I like any place quiet and cold (I know weird). But I love places like Wisconsin and Michigan in the fall and winter. Alaska and parts of New England. I'm more at ease with snow falling and taking my dog for a trek through a forest. Also can't help but love winter here in Chicago haha I know a lot of people hate it though. |

I often thought about planning a long sailing trip or something similar. I always felt like If I didn't have responsibilities that were as important as they are I would just get up and do it without thinking twice. Maybe one day.... |

Someday I hope to travel more but for now my favorite is traveling up Highway 1 along the California coast.....going north, passing Morro Bay, through a cute little town called Cambria with "pines by the sea" and little shops to explore, continuing north passed Hearst Castle to see the elephant seals, and finally driving the long, winding road to sights like Lime Kiln (camping) and Julia Pheiffer Beach. One place on Hwy 1 I go whenever I can is Ragged Point Inn, a quiet and romantic spot on high cliffs overlooking the ocean with fireplaces and jacuzzi bathtubs, a coffee shop, restaurant, etc. All in all a very peaceful trip.

It's really great to see and be there and look at first hand. Even here in the city. People who aren't familiar with the actual city of Chicago are amazed at some of our parks, large and small and our lakefront. They look amazing September through April. I have friends who live in Florida who actually come back up here to the city every fall/winter to enjoy it. | |

| After 2-3 days at sea you get into the rhythm of the ocean, it's incredible. You feel like you are at one with the universe.
