Hi Im Sharon and Im an Alcohol. By the grace of my HP and people like you here in SR I havent found it necessary to pick up a drink of alcohol since 8-11-90. For that and you I am truely grateful. With age come more pains as you know if ur over 50. Right? Why is that I wonder. Ive been grateful for good health all my life with the exception of a few problems. Like my eyes and now my legs. We put our bodies thru lots of physical, emotional, stress, etc. problems thru out our lives and as we get older those aches and pains seem to multiply or get bigger. At my age my body is still going thru changes like Menopause. Seems like ive had symptoms associated with that like hot flashes for as long as i can remember. Or is it because im a "hot Italian" lol Right now im having aches and pains in my left leg. Has anyone delt with that? I havent gone to the doctor yet because im waiting to get medical insurance with my new husband. In the mean time im just wondering what the heck is going on with my leg. Throbbing, burning sensation and i guess cramps....it locks up a times like as if something is getting caught. Ive tried rubs and Tylenol but nothing is relieving the symptoms and pain. This is also interrupting my sleep at night. Any of you out there experiencing leg pain and any suggestions to help relieve the pain till i get to the doctor? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks for letting me share.

I get Restless Leg Syndrome from time to time (I'm 38 and generally healthy) but there's not usually PAIN associated with it. If you're having cramps/muscle spasms, you can try eating a banana or two. The potassium usually helps. You say you've tried rubs - do you mean creams like Icy Hot? If those and Tylenol haven't helped, I don't know what else to suggest other than seeing a doc. Edit: one other thought just occurred to me: how high up is the throbbing/catching feeling? I'm wondering if you have a pinched nerve or something. When I was pregnant with my second child he seemed to sit RIGHT ON my sciatic nerve and for about 6 months I had horrible, unrelenting pain with what felt like "electric jolts" going down my hip into my leg any time I laid down in bed.
