Need A Bit Of Advice

Ok I got a small problem and I nned some advice

I have CP (although it is VERY VERY MINOR you couldnt tell by looking at me) I am starting my college in about a month and a half, I got $518 in the bank my tuition is $607 (I think) I semester now my mom has already agreed to pay my tuition and there is where my problem lies, I cant get a job right now because I need my disability check and if I get a job I wont get it (and I NEED it) the problem is I dont even know if I am going to get it and it will be months before I find out therefore I have NO WAY to pay her back

NONE and it makes me fee; like pure **** cause I wanna be able to pay her back but I cant.

what should I do, I feel like I am moching off her, even though she has told me not to worry about it. I dont want her paying for me, I feel like a bum.

THIS SUCKS

Won't you earn more in MONTHS by working than you would by waiting for a "possible" disability check? If you can work, why would you choose to not work? ...not trying to be a smarty, just needing more information.

As a mom, I don't mind paying for tuition if my kid is dedicated and doing his best. Mine wasn't, so the college ended. But I would expect him to work parttime if he could.

Do you have a job available to you?

as of right now I do not have a job avaible to me so thats one problem, I AM hoping I can find something to do on the college campus in order to make a couple extra bucks

besides where I live most of the work is construction (atleast it seems that way) and thats not gonna happen cause I DEEFENTLY cant do it and I know I cant due to my back and feet my disability does not allow me to stand comfortably for a long period of time) I had surgery on my back a couple times to so constuction is out.

The only other option avaible is a night sihft at a gercoery store weither it be safeway or another place thats not an option either for a number of reasons not the least of which is the fact that I wont be able to do it long term due to school coming up, the shift is 9 pm to 6-am and thats not gonna work for me, espically in stepember when I got homework and other stuff to do during the night.

so ya working is kinda hard right now.

either I'm not physicall able to do it (construction) or I wouldnt be able to do it long enough to pay her back night shift work)

this is not a one year thing this is a 2-4 year thing (most likely 4 or more.)

so ya I am screwed in terms of working at the moment

Toronto is a healthy sized city. What other skills do you have? Probably more than you think, (example: you're typing, aren't you?)

We don't know the details of your situation, (not interested, your business -- you mentioned having somewhere to live for a while). I'd be looking at the amount of the disability check compared to how much a real job pays, including benefits. Additional training / college is an option too depending on the timeframes.

The first question is to take stock of yourself and your situation.

The second question is what is the plan?

Anything you do at this point is going to take some time. The third question is what are you going to do with that time? ... How long will the plan take? How will you know you're making progress? What steps can you start taking right now?

Sometimes you just have to move on and get going. That's been my experience anyway.

You are not alone.

King, Fort McMurray is booming, they can't get enough help out there right now...I know.

You don't have to work construction, get a job as a clerk, even Tim Horton's out there pays fairly well, Pizza Hut is hiring right now, they need security people bad, they need drivers and delivery people too. You could do any of these. Just look in Fort McMurray Today and see the jobs.

Put off school for a semester while you work and save enough money and you won't have to stress about it.

Where there's a will, there's a way, King, and I'm sure you will figure something out that will work for you.
