No motivation, just insanity. My prayers go out for the victims and families and for the family of the shooter also, how sad they all must be. Hugs

Prayers to all the families, mourning the loss of their loved ones from Virginia Tech tonight. How awful sad this whole disaster is...

the right to do this. Those are the things they say or possible reasons I have heard. I don't think it's for me to understand why, it's too far from my reality. But it does remind to try and be a little kinder, even when I don't want to. Cause, you just don't know.

I tried not to think about it yesterday... and then last night I had the first nightmare I've had in a long time.. about running from a guy with a gun. That does not even begin to compare with what those students must have gone through...and the families... I just can't keep thinking about it.. it is too horrible and immeasurably sad. Mike |

A friend of mine has a granddaughter goes to school there. Thankfully she is okay. But what an ordeal. My heart is so heavy and sad for them all.

I hope the families of all those poor victims can find some peace in all this. I have to say that I wish the news media wouldn't keep going over and over it 24/7. It has to be hard enough for everyone but to keep seeing it and hearing it and all the analizing over and over. Sometimes things just need time to settle. I just can't imagine what secret pain these families are going through.

Though it has a sad ending, one of the most inspiring stories I have ever heard came out of Virgina Tech. It was the story of the professor, and I'm sorry, I can't recall his name, who was a holocaust survivor, who held the door long enough so his students could get to safety and he was gunned down. What a man. To have survived a Nazi prison camp and to still love his fellow man that he would die for him. It made me sob. |

ccgirl, Yes, that was inspiring for sure... You know, I talked about this issue all week with family and friends. But, it was on an intellectual level. Analyzing it and trying to make sense of that which cannot be done. But, at services on Saturday morning, the Rabbi led a prayer for the wounded - in body and spirit, and those who fell on that day. Honestly, the tears fell uncontrollably. I was a blubbering idiot! I just kept thinking of those kids who had their entire life ahead of them. I pictured my own students -- yes, even those PITA's. And I sobbed. The emotions came out with her prayer, as a result of the enormity of the tragedy. And today, I spoke to my students about it. And I asked them what they would have liked the administration to do. And I asked them what they would do if they saw a friend or classmate spiral out of control. We cannot change what has already happened. But, we *might* be able to make a difference in the future. Guess I'm just rambling. Lots on my mind today. Sorry, and thanks for listening... Shalom!
