| Any Race Fans????
Just wondering if there are any race fans here. I'm a diehard as well as my husband. Love to fry up some chicken wings, open up a cold coke and watch the race. I'm a dale jr fan but I also like Tony and Ward, and am looking forward to seeing how Juan Pablo Montoya does this year. Nervous about the "car of tomorrow" but I am excited about the new points system. I've been to Charlotte, Rockingham, Darlington and Talladega quite a few times. I want to go to Bristol and really would like to go to Richmond and Martinsville. I can't wait for Feb 15 when the 150's come on. I plan driving my coworkers crazy while I listen to it on the radio. I hope there are other fans here! |

I'm a fan, though I don't really follow any particular driver, and I watch pretty much any kind of racing. I just caught this new "Tug-O-War" show on Speed last week. Two big trucks tied together, seeing who can pull who. Not really a race, I know. "Pinks" is cool sometimes....I'm getting off track here, sorry. Yes I'm a race fan. |

Actually Doug, I like Pinks too although I can't understand some of the people that go on there and didn't even begin to think about what they would do if they lost their cars. A motorhome in the infield caught fire at Talladega last year while we were there. We were in the stands and it was just a burning. Some people don't put out their fires before they go to bed (or they were too drunk to remember). It would be nice to be able to stay somewhere besides the camper once but I actually love being at the camp ground in an RV. Most of the folks there are really nice and you see some hilarious stuff. Year before last at Talladega there was a couple of drunk men fighting over a woman and a big ol feller (just imagine holey jeans, wife beater tank top with the dunlap syndrome going on and hanging out of the bottom of his shirt and no shoes) chasing a little guy around the port o pottie scream at him because "I thought you were my friend, she was my woman, I love her". Worst part is that I think it was some chick they met at the track because all weekend long I never saw a woman with them and surely the guy didn't admit he was messing with his buddies wife who wasn't even there. Time-----it wouldn't surprise me if that's what happened to cause the fire. Not you but somebody. |

You should Time---even though I loved racing before I went to my first race, it makes it that much more exciting to watch. Oh I love the smell of the fuel burning when they start going around the track.........I CAN'T WAIT FOR TALLADEGA THIS YEAR!! (Assuming Brian Vickers doesn't do anything stupid this time)

I lived in Concord ... about two miles from the track. My horses were pastured in Morresville - right between two NASCAR engine 'studios' - they used a PA system to talk to each other while they worked ... she thought for the first MONTH she was in that pasture that she was at a show - Lost all kinds of weight prancing around ... LOL I don't know if I'm gonna recognize my driver - he had such a bad year last year - he might be WORKING at a subway, instead of driving for 'em - LOL

Oh Barb---I think Greg Biffle will do alright this year. He just had some really bad luck last year....... That's funny about your horses. I can't imagine trying to ride your horses in those stables listening to a bunch of folks yelling at eachother..... |

hey slow - our night porter just came over and said HE heard a rumor that JR is gonna go over to toyota .. if he doesn't get what he wants ...(what the heck could he want?) ownership of DEI ? (what the he**) Wants majority vote or something? anybody heard that one??? toyota ... I dunno about the whole 'foreign ' thing ... *skwinty face* just doesn't 'feel' right, ya know? Alcoholism built that industry, ya know? One still runner racin' his driver agin' another ... there's a tradition there ... I would rather see things stay american ...

Nah---- there's been Jr. rumors for a couple of years now. He wants an ownership interest in the company and wants a little more say about what goes on. I don't think he'll go anywhere because if he goes then Budweiser goes with him (DEI's major sponser). Without those two I doubt there will be a DEI and I know that Teresa knows this. I think they are in negotiations about what is going to happen between them. She can't be that dumb. If he does go, I'm pretty sure he's said before that he'll go to RCR because that's who his daddy raced for. I'm a little iffy on the Toyotas too but commercialization of the sport has led to everyone wanting a little piece of the pie. |
