So true, Historyteach. And damn, almost young by today's standards too -- at 65. Shoot, ol' Andy Rooney's going to outlive them all. LOL Man's too stubborn to die -I LOVE him!Chalk up another loss, though, for an aging journalism industry. Harry Reasoner in 1991, Hue Downs a bit later, I believe? as co-anchor of 20/20 with Barbara Walters. Peter Jennings only last year - a REAL heartbreaker for me. Very traumatic. Nobody knew. It was SO fast. Slowly, and as certain as life itself, they're all dying off, these pioneer ushers-in of the golden age of TV-magazine and news programs as we now know them. -TCD- |
