I've seen most of the most all the movies everyone has talked about on this page. 2 of my favorite movies over the last several years "HEARTS AND SOULS" Stars Robert Downey Jr. The other movie, I've based my life on this is one called "Pay it Forward" with Kevin Spacy.

28 Days was good. When a Man Loves a Woman is a great recovery movie. Dwell, I love Labrynth. The fire gang are the ones who take their heads off. I like Ludo best. (the big one). Oh yeah, I like the little worm too. Forrest Gump, Tom Hanks was great in that. I call my husband Forrest b/c he loves so kind & gently like Forrest. The Apostle Paul was very insperational for me. This thread is a good one, I watch a lot of movies.

I also watch a lot of movies. My favorite recovery movie is Clean and Sober 1988 with Michael Keaton. (((Tobsta)) and (((Stud))) I assume you are talking about the 2002 Version of Hero I havent seen that one yet. There is also another movie titled Hero from 1992 with Dustin Hoffman that was really good.

Thanks for the great ideas! I, too, am going to have to hit Blockbuster soon! Some that have already been mentioned that are great: WHEN A MAN LOVES A WOMAN I AM SAM FORREST GUMP Funny ones: RUSH HOUR & RUSH HOUR 2 MONSTERS INC (just so cute) SHREK AND SHREK 2 (I love those childrens' computer animated movies!) SLING BLADE (both funny, sad and sweet) One of my favorites which is artistic, sad, and just really cool: WHAT DREAMS MAY COME One of my all-time favorites since childhood: THE BLACK STALLION (incredible cinematography and a must-see for horse-lovers.) ~Ashes

If ya like sci-fi, I recomend The Fifth Element. Want your pants scared off of ya ? See The Grudge when it comes out on DVD/video. Freak out your head & see Jacob's Ladder or Event Horizon < ( WARNING:this one a little gory) The best "monster" movie I've seen so far, is Interveiw with the Vampire. With a cast of Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise & Antonio Banderas, how can you go wrong ? Kirtsen Dunst is also in it as Claudia.

i watched the first 5 minutes of friday night lights... and fell asleep. not my kindof movie! last night i watched sky captain and the world of tomorow. SUCH EYE CANDY!!!!!!! for multiple reasons... all but the actors are made by computor.. and best of all JUDE LAW (HOT STUFF!) and GWYNETH PALTROW are the main characters... mmm mm mm! There isnt much of a plot but its a good family movie, the kind that you just have to check out.

No, I haven't seen Ju-on (((((((((((tobstah))))))))))), I'm a Netflix member now, so I'll order it. I was afraid it would be in subtitles. Is it ? I've been watching old movies. I recently watched The Changeling. An old horror movie from the 70s. with George C. Scott. Creepy, but slow for todays standards. I also watched The Rutles. If you're a Beatles fan, you'll love it. It's a spoof on Beatlemania. British humor rocks. I just got Booogeyman today. Anyone see it ?

It's dead old but my all time favourite has to be Ghandi. I went to see it when I was about 8 or 9 with my family. We lived in an area that had a high Asian population and we were the only white folk in the cinema. Getting up to leave is one of my clearest memories as the sari colours weren't only on the big screen but all around me. I remember a middle aged woman smiling at me, I remember smiling back despite still having tears falling and I remember deep inside knowing that I would never knowingly take part in any racial abuse, or witness silently racial intolerence. If that old woman could smile at me like that despite my colour and what we'd just seen, then the film wasn't just a film - it could teach, something different. Since I was 16 or 17 I've always had a copy, I'm on number 2 now because my first one broke! I think I watch it at least once a year and have always felt or seen something new. I would HIGHLY recommend it, to watch the first time or to watch again. |

House of Sand and Fog - watched it again recently, just as powerful as the first time. Ben Kingsley and Jennifer Connelly. Brilliant, sad, and intense.

I agree with all that picked It's A Wonderful Life. That's my favorite and Jimmy Stewart was my favorite actor. Some people find it corny but I think it has a strong message that every life has a purpose and affects other people more than you realize. Other favorites are: Wizard of Oz The King and I Any Alfred Hitchcock movie. I have a collection of them. Casablanca Star Wars (first one)
