An earlier poster mentioned "A Walk to Remember" which I also loved. My favourite movie of all time is "Life as a House" starring Kevin Kline. I don't want to give the plot away, but it's absolutely breathtaking. Having said that, my favourite romantic movie of all time is "What Dreams May Come". Thanks to all for the movie suggestions I am going to rent "The Straight Story" tonight. God bless. |

Here's another one that I watched recently and just loved. It's called "Door To Door" and it's the true story of Bill Porter, a door to door salesman with cerebral palsy . It really goes to show that with determination and loving support we can do anything we set our minds to. I found this movie to be truly inspiring. BTW, Bill still works for the Watkins Company and has a website where you can still order from him. Here's his website - check it out! http://www.billporter.com/

| Hello, my name is Bill W.
I was recommended this movie yesterday and i am running to the video store after work to get it! It's about the founder of AA. James Woods plays the founder, Bill W. and Gary Senise plays his long time alcoholic friend. Let's get it and critique it together! |

Mullholland Dr. because it is the only movie that I know of in which you can actually decide what the plot is on your own...although you may have to watch it three times to even come up with one. So many different perspectives and angles you can view it as. What a great movie. David Lynch is a spectacular artist/movie maker and deserved that award he won for Best Director. This movie deals with many contraverial topics such as the role of the apiring young actress' on the streets of Hollywood and the despair in which follows with personal defeat. Probably the only really good movie I have seen to come out on the big screen in ahwile. I'm sick of all these $100 million dollar action sequels and senseless white guy/black guy comedy movies. Just my opinion

"Where the Heart Is" is such a great movie to watch when I'm down in the dumps. It makes me laugh, cry, and it has a happy ending. And it has a powerful message about finding yourself, finding love and acceptance, and above all, finding your way to strength and healing.

Thnis is a great topic. Movies are my lifeline in recovery! The most powerful American movie I´ve ever seen is "The Shawshank Redemption" because it offers hope against all odds and shows a beautiful friendship. I watch it when I´m going through a really hard time - and cry every time. I also loved "Mulholland Drive" by David Lynch - he´s one of my favorite movie directors and "All about my mother" by Pedro Almodovar. It´s simply intense. Woody Allen´s movies make me laugh. "Deconstructing Harry" is one of my favorites and "the Curse of the Jade Scorpion".:shades:

Anne Of Green Gabels Then Grumpy Old Men 1 and 2 All Walt Disney movies...nothing like having a good cry watching a cartoon.
