Even for the recovering addict, the world is not all gloom and doom A flower is coaxed to blossom and grow The earth caresses the beginning seed A tender touch, quenching drops of rain The warming sunbeams feed its bloom Growing steadily from solid roots Nurtured and loved by Gods soft touch It breaks the surface in search of air Ever reaching towards the heavens Leaves covered in prickly fuzz Creating a base for awesome glory Moist with dew it glows dull green As its true nature prepares to escape Predestined beauty begins to show As stem forms a bud waiting for birth Petal by soft petal it slowly opens Revealing a feast for human eyes Masterfully painted in colors bright White velvet softness trimmed in purple Bright orange center reflecting mild Creating a kaleidoscope of contradiction Honey sweet scent filling the air Jasmine and lavender swirled in one Scintillating souls to rejoice in peace Found in its splendor, pure serenity Living eternal in images of memory This glorious gift given with love Enticing emotions of awe and wonder Created for us by the Greatest Artist |
