Eyes bleary from lack of sleep
Emotions running wild and deep
Up and down moments change
This clean life seems so strange

Thoughts flying with wicked speed
Most taunting me to fill the need
Justifying and reasoning all is fine
Assuring me I wont cross the line

Fighting the demons in my head
If I listen to them I will be dead
Begging of God to quiet the roar
And place me on a silent shore

Over and over praying for serenity
Trying to recognize this new identity
Strength and resolve ebb and flow
Struggling valiantly against the foe

Just for this moment I will refrain
And recognize this binding chain
Right now, I will lean on God’s ear
My pleading cry I know He’ll hear

Thank you Chris, I am pleased to know this also. God is by my side every step of the way.

It is so nice to not have to carry the weight all alone anymore.
