I wrote this at the start of my recovery.

One Day at a Time

All I want is recovery
Cuz I don't want no more me
How I wish that all could see
Happiness is recovery

I've a long way to go
But I feel & I know
I see it happenin before my eyes
Relating with people, is such a suprise

I'm only here on step 1
Already I feel, my recovery's begun
Number 12 seems so far away
I've got to take it day by day

I want to live sober & clean
Having control was only a dream
The cunningness of my addiction
Brought me to this control afliction

I know now that I'm powerless
And my higher power, I must address
He's the one to take it from me
Only He can restore my sanity.

I really enjoyed this also, it is very expressive of the very beginning of recovery, and the realization of what needs to be done to find the recovery we seek. Thank you for sharing this with us. Keep coming back!
