| Playing Second Base...
This is a true story the minister shared at my mother's funeral 5 years ago, and I thought I would share it here. When my mother was almost 80, she attended our church camp "family weekend" and on Saturday they had set up a baseball game for children and adults alike to play. The minister walked up to my mother and said "Hi Velma, I set up a nice chair for you in the shade with the ladies from your "mission" group and I'll get you some lemonade." My mothers reply was "Oh thank you, that was so sweet of you, and I'll be right there, but right now I have to go out and play second base". And she picked up her ballglove and went out and played. Is it any wonder that my mother is probably my biggest inspiration in life?

WOW - amazing, thank you for sharing. I hope I am playing second base at 80. It is amazing to me that 7+ years ago I didn't care if I lived to be 40 and now the thought of playing second base at 80 excites the heck out me. Thanks for sharing!!
