Talking Quotes...

Some of my faves....

Only two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity. I'm not sure about the former.

--Albert Einstein

Do not bother to wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty, but the pig likes it!

--David Miles

Never underestimate a man who overestimates himself.

--Franklin D. Roosevelt

If you always do what you always did, you'll always get what you always got.

--Unknown

The value of an idea has nothing whatsoever to do with the sincerity of the man who expresses it.

--Oscar Wilde

My father didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.

--Clarence Buddinton Kelland

If you're going to be able to look back on something and laugh about it, you might as well laugh about it now.

--Marie Osmond

Love is the triumph of imagination over intelligence.

--H. L. Mencken

When we honestly ask ourselves which person(s) in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate now knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares.

--Henri Nouwen

We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

--Albert Einstein

Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.

--Lucille Ball

Self-pity is our worst enemy and if we yield to it, we can never do anything wise in the world.

--Helen Keller

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.

--Eleanor Roosevelt

If you lay down with dogs you get up with fleas.

--Unknown

Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together.

--Vista M. Kelly

I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure, which is, try to please everybody.

--Herbert Bayard Swope

How about,

"Don't cast your pearls before swine"

"You can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear."

or

"If you play with the vultures at night, you can't soar with the eagles at dawn."

I don't know who originally said these, but I remember these were some of mother's homegrown wit when I was growing up. LOL

I don't know who wrote these but how about:

Quote:
If you try to carry all the worries of the world on your shoulders, you'll get a bad back.
Quote:
There is no shame in tears. Weeping cleanses the heart and refreshes the soul.
Quote:
An ocean of sadness often borders the shores of paradise. Keep swimming and you'll make it.
