~A Life For Sale~


For sale, one life,
lots of miles,
some smiles,
some pain, some strife,
but all in all not a bad life

I used it hard it's all I knew
I pushed and pulled and drug it through

More things I'd change than I would not
I'd have smiled more and not have fought
to keep what wasn't worth a thing
but even that's worth remembering

Wellllll...
sometimes the pushing and pulling was fun
and we laughed afterwards at the things we had done

On second thought,
it's not for sale
I couldn't sell such a precious thing
with miles and smiles and pain and strife
all in all it's a pretty good life

You see, now that I think instead of react
it's a pretty good life and that's a fact

I had some dear cling tight to me
I had someone near do right by me
I had someone bear my wrongs for me
I had someone fight and be strong for me

I think the sale I'd like to make
Is purchase the vision to look ahead
.. and trust I might
fight...
.. but only to do right

And see the miles and smiles and pain and strife
Not as impediments...but as my life

No, it's not for sale. I couldn't bear it
But, tell you what...I'm willing to share it

The more I look,
The more there is

For goodness sake there's more than I can use
Look, take what you need any part...Just choose

Look take just a little, if you're not sure
and when you are - take some more
It's worth nothing to me unless you do

Hey! Take it all, there's lots more where that came from
It came to me from the Father by way of the Son

No, my life's not for sale. It was purchased before
and given back - a gift - by the Son, restored.
