My Life

Can you look beyond her smile and see all the pain she’s hiding?
Can you see in her eyes the tears she won’t let out?
All she’ll show people are laughs and happiness
While deep inside the pain is growing
In her heart she feels a hurt she can never describe
She feels like she’ll never find her way
Everything she’s ever truly loved is gone
She made mistakes that cost her so much of her life
All she wants is to be happy again
She wants her smiles and laughs to be real
She wants to show you the real person she is
One day she realized that her fears and pains will always be there
It’s what you do with your life that makes you who you are
Its how you play the hand that you were dealt
No matter what you can’t fold
You have to hold your head up high and let yourself learn and grow
You’ve made mistakes but everyone does but if you learn from them
It’s not truly a mistake it’s a choice
It took me my lifetime to understand this
That I am who I am
I have pains and I have fears
I cry real tears and I hurt too
But I won’t let it control me anymore
When I fall down
I’m going to pick myself back up
I’m not going to hide anymore
This is who I am
This is who I’m going to be
And I’m going to love me
And I’m going to love my life
When I cry I’m going to let you see my tears
When I’m in pain I’ll let you see my hurt
And when I need your hand to hold I’m going to ask
And one day I’ll be as happy as I can possibly be
So, I’ve hit a couple of bumps in my path
But I’m not going to let it keep me from going on
It’s my life and I’m going to live it how I chose to
And now I chose to be happy again.
