| Superduperest | A Song by Peter Himmelman Easy to be Broken by Peter Himmelman I got a thousand questions for God and man I got a head full of answers I can't understand Why the lies grow fat and the children get crushed The static gets applause and the truth gets hushed We live our lives in stoned anticipation Somewhere along the line we've lost our ticket home It's so easy to be broken, it's so hard to be alone Everyone's cravin' what nobody needs Just killin' time while our innocence bleeds You and I are jumpin' madly tryin' to rise above A world in decay and the wreckage of love But you know we'd lay our morals down in fire For the filthy little dream they toss us like a bone It's so easy to be broken, it's so hard to be alone It's so easy to be broken, it's so easy to be broken down There's a woman in the alley sleepin' by the trash Dreamin' 'bout her daddy and fists full of cash Now their cleanin' their pistols at the end of my block What should I tell my daughter when she learns how to talk Do I tell her that the world's been built on broken promises Do I tell her that she needs to find a heart of stone It's so easy to be broken, it's so hard to be alone It's so easy to be broken, It's so easy to be broken It's so easy to be broken down... It's so hard to be alone Easy to be broken, easy to be broken From the CD titled "Skin"

I love this, and how true it is to be broken and broken down. We raised our daughters in a neighbourhood that a soup kitchen was up the block, and homeless people lived in their cars across the street on railroad property. Our girls turned out so good, and so giving and open minded. I've always thought they learned so much about real life and real hardship by seeing it exists instead of a out of sight out of mind part of town. thanks for posting this~
