| I. . I. One day, I mocked the truth; refused to see. Deep ridicule was shovelled from my door. The Jesus freaks -- claimed wealth, been saved -- looked poor! Weighed down by heavy books. Humility! Our dogma: Peace love dope. But, none was free. Tranquil? Laid up in smoke rings; did we soar? Great cost was paid. Yet, we sought and lost more. Forget the change. We’re bankrupt morally. I teetered at the bottom, full of blame. Bravado broke by words I need to see: Love, easy does it, hallowed be thy name. Now, door ajar, acceptance is the key. I live today. I walk; no longer lame. Unfathomable peace: serenity. . |
