Tis The Season




I have had to stop sometimes and pause.
It was hard to take, finding out, there’s no Santa Claus.

And I always found it to be funny:
When, I heard the story about an egg laying bunny.

Then, I found another story not to be true.
That’s the story about the tooth fairy leaving money for you.

There is a Lot of things I’ve been led to believe.
I’ve read lately, December 24th isn’t Christmas eve.

I still do believe in the virgin birth
I believe God sent his son to Earth.

I’ve never been much for having a Christmas tree.
Maybe, that’s wrong but, that’s just me.

With shootings at churches, schools and mall,
I spend a lot of time praying for God to help us all.

When, I’m at a Toys R Us or a Wal-Mart, I don’t have to think hard.
Does it mean I love someone less by not maxing out my credit card?

The true meaning of Christmas in my mind;
We’re to love one another and be kind.

For those of us that have plenty,
Share our bounty with those that don’t have any.

Somehow, the real meaning of Christmas has been lost.
We’re to love one another free of cost.

My Christmas wish, I hope comes true.
That, the spirit of Christmas, goes on all year for me an you.
