| Missing Loved Ones
As I was watching one of my fav shows last nite "Without a Trace" my heart went out to those tons of families that are Missing a loved one - how they must feel this time of year. It must be so hard. I get emails asking for prayers for our soldiers and their families, one asking for prayers for the family of a recently departed loved one, one for those who have children in the hospital, but I don't think I have ever gotten one for the many Moms, Dad, Brothers, Sisters, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles of those precious faces who are missing. So these are the thoughts that filled my heart last nite - don't do much poetry writing - but it just sort of worked out that way. My Precious One the holidays are here and thoughts of you fill my heart even more this time of year I gaze at the lights on my tree I wonder, are you somewhere so that you can see The sights, the sounds do they reach you, my heart sighs Oh how I long to see those lights twinkle in your beautiful eyes As I button my coat from the cold winds blow I pray you are warm are you safe from harm as I see little ones dance in the snow Our home is filled with smells of fresh baked treats Please dear God, make sure my loved one has enough to eat I may buy you a special gift Or perhaps not this year it's all so much another pretty package your fingers cannot touch So many friends don't know what to say Pray, I ask and then again, pray For comfort, for strength For wisdom, for courage I pray this for you They pray this for me And that's how I make it through one more day I'll start next year the same as the past With prayers, hopes and dreams Soon you'll be home, finally at last. Prayers for all those who are awaiting a loved ones return Rita
