| Post Thanksgiving Poem: based on a true story
Twas the night before Thanksgiving and all through my house, No creatures were stirring- not even a mouse. Some drunken drag racers made a deafening crash. I looked out my window and pulled back the sash. Forty feet from where my loved one was snoring, Was a truck flipped over at two in the morning. That woke all my family from out of their sleep. And the neighbors all gathered outside to peek. The drivers were fine, I thought they'd be dead. I smelled the booze they poured out on my hedge. The kids said don't worry, we know what to do, Mind your own business- get out- shoo! They laughably tried to unflip the truck, But soon enough they ran out of luck. Just as soon as the police and the EMT's arrived, The party was over, thank God no one died.
