| USS America
This is a tribute to the ship I served on. I found it on Youtube. http://youtube.com/watch?v=2kTS8Z3BXA0 They ended up sinking her in order to build better aircraft carriers. I guess it's better than rusting away in some shipyard. At least she went down serving the country. Still very sad. This link dosen't go directly to it. Once on Youtube type in USS America and hit search

Thank you Don That was nice. My son is on the Enterprise at this very moment. He sends POD all the time. Sure is nice looking at such works of steel. We may go down to SC next month. CV 10 was my FIL's ship and they have their annual association meeting on ship. The Grey Lady...The Yorktown.

Thanks Best. I still get goosebumps remembering my time aboard. I still get chills remembering pulling in and out of port. We would line the deck in our dress uniforms(sidebouys). They would play " God Bless America" and America The Beautiful". One of my friends that stayed in posted a picture of the America with the twin towers in the background. I'm going to try to cut and post it.

I remember when the Kennedy was in Boston and took the tour. Working at the shipyard in Quincy and building parts for some of the ships, a tour was all the more personal. With my son on the Big "E" and my FIL having served on both Yorktowns CV 5 and CV 10. A visit to SC will be extra nice I would think.

Don, people like you and Best's son and all who serve so valiantly, just touch my heart and make me proud to be your neighbour. To all who serve and those who wait with love for them to return..."Thank You". Hugs
