Spiritsoars post prompted me to write this one...I too am looking for a poem, I am sure it was called something like "lament for a loved horse" or "lament for a loved friend" or "lament for a loved pony" and part of the words were "I would often stop and stare and hear a whinny coming up from yonder way" It was about a girl who's horse died but the spirit of the horse lived on. Can anyone help?

If you find it, here is a nice picture to go with it...

| Hi Wolfstarr, I had to recite this poem in 2nd or 3rd year at school when I was 13 0r 14 (i am 33 now), and it was out of a book of poetry, something tells me it was an english poet but that could be SO wrong. I too have searched the internet and I can't find it, it has been bugging me for about a year now. And I REALLY want to find it.

Hi Wolfstarr, I don't know the song? But I have actually posted on poetry forums in the last few days to ask!!! it's driving me MAD. I even checked out my school website as if teacher had still been there I would have emailed her. I didn't dream it as I asked my mum and da if they remembered and they "sort of" new what I was talking about. I really wish I knew what it was!! Thanks for your efforts though! :-)
