This thread was inspired by hope3's winter wondering's thread. That thread became all about sharing the beauty that surrounds all of us. It became that to me because of these people, Ann, Best, Greeteachday, Paulmb, 2stop, astro, Embraced, Stone, Chiynita, Jwife, Scaredykat, Gypsy and anyone else who enjoyed sharing and I may have forgot. This thread is for all who enjoy the beautiful things in nature. Weather you are sharing your pictures of nature, or sharing how the pictures inspire you, all is welcome. I love going for drives or walking on paths surrounded by nature, because life is all about the journey for me, not just the destiny. Love and Hope for all.... Hope3 This Heron picture was taken from one of my favorite places, ausable Point Marsh.

Awesome pictures, both of you, and an inspiration to me to get out this afternoon and see the beauty God has set before me. This was a sunrise over the bay behind my house, that I took the end of April....

That was a sunrise, Hope, lol, but equally pretty. I have two mallards that have adopted me, Daisy and Dougie Duck, they come knocking on my patio door with their beaks (don't ask me how ducks know to knock), or peek through the screen if the door is open. I was feeding them on the deck, but they pooped all over so now they get fed on the lawn and just once a day, only until Daisy has her babies... This is Daisy... ![]() And Daisy and Dougie just hanging around... ![]() And Toby sits and quacks back at them...

Hi Ann, their instincts are just as good or better than ours. They knew right away to peck on your door, even if your instinct was at first to feed them on the deck, hee hee, you learn fast, feed on lawn, that gave me a chuckle.... Wonder what Toby is thinking, while staring at them through the door? Later, all, hope3

If you look at his mouth, it's wide open...as in "quack quack". He tries to quack but does it quietly...about the only thing he ever does quietly. A cat that quacks like a duck!! I should put him in a circus.

Hi Everyone, Since it's spring I have a couple of pictures to share. This is my rose bush in front of my house. Last year it got to over 6' tall. I got over 30 roses on it. This was taken last June during the time of major flooding in are area. We still have people living in FEMA trailers 10 to 15 miles away from me. Barb

I guess I am on a heron kick, this is the time of the year at the marsh that there is no camping, so the herons kind of have the run of the place, best time to watch and take pictures of them...... Hope3

I'm not sure what this bird is, at first I thought it was a morning dove, but then it has speckled dots on the sides of the belly and the beak is different than a morning dove, what do you think? hope3

What a lovely way to begin my day, looking at these gorgeous pictures. Scaredycat, I absolutely love roses, especially those that seem to grow "free" on a large bush like yours. My soil and the Canadian north are not very conducive to roses, too many bugs and breezes, but I try just the same. This is a Niagara Rose that I planted last year and have yet to see if it survived the winter and will grow this year. ![]() And Hope, your herons are magnificent. Just they way you have caught them so naturally is awesome. I am still awaiting their return here, although they may already be here and I haven't seen many yet, we live in major Great Blue Heron country. I am still awaiting the foxes and babies that I enjoyed so much last year. Rumour has it that they may have been moved to a conservation area that was safer for them and less disruptive, but I really hope they are still around. I haven't seen them since the end of winter out on the ice and know that this is baby time, so will watch carefully at dawn and dust. They are so beautiful and contrary to their reputation they are very timid and non-aggresive.

LOVE nature pics..................very relaxing for me............ This is a creek behind our house. I was starting to get depressed going into my back yard.......we were about to lose our home(foreclosure) but just was approved for a loan..........I am so grateful. Now I can enjoy my backyard and all my dreams for it.......and the creek makes me happy looking at it, not nervous and scared that I'll have to say 'good-bye'...............

....................I love the hills and mountain view across the bridge, especially when the flag is waving just right in the wind. The elderly gentleman to the left on the bridge is one of the Marines that was standing just below the picture of the marines raising the flag in Iwo Jima. He wasn't in the picture, but was right there beside them. My daughter is running across the bridge towards me. This picture makes me think of freedom.........and the beauty it brings me every single day. It makes me thankful for those who ensure my freedoms are not ripped away.

Ann, I hope your foxes come back too. That niagra rose is beautiful. The colors glow together...Your sunRISE was spectacular...I am so glad we are all in the spring mood....We are just getting buds on our trees, and the only thing blooming are the crocuses, (spelling?). But the grass is finally starting to green up.. 2stop, glad you joined us, I love the creek behind your house. Running water is very soothing and relaxing, I am glad you are going to be able to stay there. You caught the light on the tulip just right, gorgeous shot.. I love pink, so your bush is perfect, although I do like yellow, you will have to show us a picture of your yellow tree. Can't wait to see more blooming flowers around here. Your flowers that you posted on the other thread were gorgeous Ann... Good night all, thanks for sharing your love of nature with me, hope3

Tammie, I loved your pictures too, and Hope, I am so glad we have a fun photo thread again. Mama duck hasn't hatched her babies yet but I think soon. I took a picture of two geese and their 6 brand new babies floating by tonight, just showing them off. ![]() I'll post it when I get a chance to download. Hugs
