OK...so I'm lazy ...but I have been reading
some of my Grandfathers letters and am
running across some words...that frankily
I have not a flipping clue about..... have any of
you?
insalubrious
effluvia
prosaic
ebullience
cudgels
venality

I read... a little but I have not come across these words,
if we could write like they did back in the 1800..
it would be fun.

I've looked a few up since you have me curious.....

insalubrious

ADJECTIVE: Not sustaining or promoting health: unhealthy, unsalutary, unwholesome.

effluvia

A usually invisible emanation or exhalation, as of vapor or gas.

A byproduct or residue; waste.
The odorous fumes given off by waste or decaying matter.
An impalpable emanation; an aura.

prosaic

Consisting or characteristic of prose.
Matter-of-fact; straightforward.
Lacking in imagination and spirit; dull.

Do they make any sense?

The use of a position of trust for dishonest gain.
