Good supplement: I'd recommend it

I have some serious battles with sleep and I'm addicted, unfortunately, to a cocktail of meds. Some of it is for depression and anxiety and those are what cause the insomnia.

Anyways, about 6 months ago I started taking a product called E.T.S made by a company called At Large Nutrition. I have been buying their protein powders for years and ignoring most of the other items since I can get them cheaper at the same quality where I live (Not in the U.S). That is until I learned from a fellow weightlifter that it helped with his sleep. I bought a couple bottles. I was told that IF the sleep factor would work on me (It doesn't on everyone apparently) that it would take about 5 days to build up.

I believe the ingredients responsible for the deep sleep are due to the zinc and magnesium content. The other ingredients mixed are meant to speed recovery of muscle soreness after heavy lifting (Which is what it is marketed as). The sleep part is just a benefit that some (Not all) get. I did...and man did I notice it.

Around the end of the first week of taking them I noticed my dreams were much more 'clear', less 'scary' and more of a feeling of control and 'happiness'. I would wake up at really early hours (6am instead of my regular 10am) thinking I had overslept, not realizing that it was 6am and I had only slept 6 or 7 hours.

Some days I forget to take them at night (You take 4 in the morning and 4 at night) and I'll actually wake up around 3am to pee and realize that I haven't had to wake up to pee for ages AND realize then that I didn't take the supplement. I take them and it's back to la la land for a couple of DEEP hours of sleep.

You probably don't have to buy this particular supplement from this maker, although they are a high quality company. If you live outside the U.S shipping can be expensive (Although I've heard that there are some countries that will start stocking their products).

I would recommend anyone looking for a good sleep to take zinc and magnesium at the same levels reported on this products label. Get a good brand. See if it works. If it does, great!! Share here and let everyone else know. If it doesn't...still, share here.

I've been able to reduce my meds slightly because of this. It's still a long haul before I am off these meds completely, but it's a step closer.
