Hey Folks: One day sober BUT I told my doc I had sleep issues, and he decided that Prozac was the answer. I told him I thought he was crazy, but I did fill the scrip, but haven't taken it yet. Internet sources seem all over the map on this one. Some support its use, others don't! Any direct experience out there??? Times Forward |

Prozac is an anti-depressant. I used it to wean myself off of Paxil. It works great for me. I'm not sure why your doctor prescribed it for you though. I've never heard of it being prescribed as a sleep aid, however.

My best advice to you Times would be to stop reading the internet and just try it out. If your doctor prescribed it, I'm sure he has a reason for it. If it doesn't work, just go back to the doctor and tell him to switch to a different med. What do you think the worst that could happen is? Isn't Paxil an anti-d too? That's what my doc prescribed me for an anti-d. You're weaning yourself off an anti-d with another anti-d? I'm confused.

Prozac cured my insomnia in about a week.
