| No Day But Today | Nightmares won't stop...
Hi there. Just wondering if anyone has ever dealt with nightmares that are basically showing you negative outcomes to situations you are/were dealing with. Right now, every night for the past 3 weeks, I have been dealing with nightmares about my ex-boyfriend, who is an addict, and horrible things that may happen. I've seen his funeral, gotten the call that he's in the hospital, been attacked by his dealers...etc. Has anybody had that? When did it stop for you? How did it stop? How serious would you take them? |

I went through a period of about a year of night terrors, horrible dreams where I would wake up screaming and when I could hardly get an hour straight sleep. When I woke up I would hate to go back to sleep because they would continue and it almost drove me crazy. My recovery helped, but was already in place when this happened. Mine were recurring dreams, where I would face the Angel of Death every time. What helped me, as silly as it may sound, was to talk back to the Angel and tell him that I wasn't afraid and to go away. I did this often and as quickly as they began, the terrors ended. I think I had to detach from the drama, even in my dreams, in order to find my balance again. This is where my program, live meetings and a lot of prayer really helped. Hugs from a mama who has been there.
