| Severe Insomnia/psychosis/delerium tremens
Hi don't know if I put this one in the right thread, but hope its ok anyhow(I'm really not clear here in my head atm..) Well long story made short. I have abused both drugs and alcohol, last one least. But I got delerium tremens once. I really started drinking alot of alchol because I could not sleep when I didn't do drugs(ages since.. smoked hasj, weed or took rohypnol to sleep.) I also once ended up a drug induced psychosis because I had been eating rohypnol for about 7-8 months and just quit on the day ( you need to step those things down gradually as with alchol when drinking alot of it), and the same thing happen with alcohol but only with major abuse over a 4-5 month period with a fast stop. Nowadays they have me on various sleeping pills and the one I was on until last thursday was called nitrazipam. I was given that one 1 time before but I didn't drink any thing then but I did that this time and it was a damn wet weekend to.... After this I couldn't sleep and I read on the documents for the drug that this drug must never be mixed with alchol(never took em on the same day even). (on both occasions I was given and took 10 5mg tablets, one each night). Now I'm getting a sort of delerium tremens feeling, does anyone know what I have to do? Do I have to step down on alchol(I mean drink alittle then less and less?) Go to the doctor or take half a pill or something? I haven't slept since sunday night and feel real strange. Grrr I hate the stupid police for going so crazy for the hasj/weed smokers here. I started abusing rohypnol(Big Mistake!) because it's alot more "invisible(easy to throwaway), and because the police was catching me with hasj/weed(Dear God don't let them sit there watiching movies, play xbox and eating kebabs/burgers! those evil criminals sort of thing). that was a big mistake... The next mistake was to start drinking, getting delerium and then beeing fed drugs even far worse that that rohypnol because I have severe insomnia.. I cannot see the logics in western society sometimes. That one little puff before bedtime would been all I needed to sleep and function and sleep all along. No alcholhol abuse and no damn benzodiazepines(think thats english spelling) of any kind. I have increased hart rate from delerium tremens, starting to get hearing hallusiantions wich occur in both and get dissoriented/confusem, wideawaked-yet-tired. In these cases I had psychosis and delerium I was out of the hospital after aweek but the aftermaths took alot of time. I really dont want the embarasement by going to the hospital though this is a case of a stupidbloke not reading his perscription note properly... I feel so ill right and tried to google ended here, and soon I think I will go for a bottle of wine to see if it gets my feet on the ground. Then I'm going check if that works and go buy a sixpack or perhaps even 2 just to be safe. If anyone have medical experience or information on this subject I would be really happy, I'd rather want to be sick here for a couple of days than going to the damn hospital and everyone would know what an idiot I have been Last edited by urkaburka; 06-18-2008 at 03:27 AM. |

getting the sence of voice hallucinations(err voices not just distortions), next part is the hard visual hallucinations(already got distortions here to) I'm downing this bottle and I'm going to do it fast. Drinking alot of water with the wine. update now the voice hallucinations is kicking greatly in I think I might have to resolve to the hospil if I cannot get this damn discusting wine down fast(hate the stuff). At this point the delererium is strating to tralsate fan and other mild noices into voices but if I focus on the sound I can "kick" them away, but that only last for so and so long (from my last experience with this, wich was not pleasent) Here comes the harder voice hallucinations associated with highersounds, now I run buy beer pray that some yank doctor is still awake or anyone over here is soon taking their luch break wich should be about now And turning off every damn device in this house even this puter last for removing all sources for the voice/song hallucinations/distortions + removing all possible eye stiumla wich means turning of this screen to. This seems like a sort of delerium tremens, early start and not a psychosis. No "forced thoughts", "forced movements" or other crazies thingies this is why I also went for the bottle. I hope I'm right and wont just feed a psychosis with that alcohol. Last edited by urkaburka; 06-18-2008 at 03:59 AM. |

Other hearing disrtorting/hallucionation from the last time I got delerium, is from something ommiting sound that is beeing translated by my messed up brain into songs I have on my head. Hope the store sells somesort of earplugs! (removes all sound hallucinations almost)And drug users that reads these posts, if this sounds fun. I can promise you it is not don't be so foolish to try and induce this. I have never done acid and such, but I could clearly not reccomend this and its very dangerous. for delerium 10% mortality but thats mostly because old alcholocs get it, I think perphaps since I'm fairly young the rate is low for me but I seem to be very likely to get these things because its rare(First time I got it I was given a couple insleeping pills and sent home from 2 doctors, beacuse they didn't know what was wrong with me, as it is so rare now. here atleast). Perhaps something to do with former (lots of ) drug abuse? And in particular that episode with rohypnol abuse with benzodiazepinewithraval syndrom wich is what leads to psychosis. please excuse my spelling atm Last edited by urkaburka; 06-18-2008 at 04:30 AM. |

I would suggest you get immediate medical help - an Emergency Room is fine. DTs and the other symptoms you describe are acute drug and alcohol withdrawal. I've had them - and almost died. Today I am clean and sober in AA and NA for 23 years. But I've lived the life you write about. There is hope - and you don't have to continue to feel like that. Love in recovery, Jody Hepler |
