<<lack Of Sleep>>

AS I HAVE MENTIONED I AM NEW TO RECOVERY. WELL, BEEN CLEAN OVER A YEAR NOW.
TREATMENT HAS BEEN HELPING ME A LOT. I HAVE BEEN GIVEN A THERIPIST AND A PYCH DOCTOR ALL THAT THE STATE PAYS FOR. I HAVE BEEN LUCKY I GUESS.

WELL, WHEN I FIRST GOT OUT OF JAIL AND WAS CLEAN (last december) I SLEPT A LOT. MOSTLY ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT. I WAS NEW TO THE AREA AND KNEW NOONE AND WAS JUST WAITING FOR MY MOM TO GET TO MISSOURI AS SOON AS SHE COULD. I HAD NO PROBLEM SLEEPING AT ALL. NOT ONE BIT.

I HAVE BEEN PUT ON AN ANIEXITY MEDICINE AND TEGRETOL. WHEN I FIRST STARTED TAKING IT ... I WAS ABLE TO SLEEP. THAT LASTED TWO WEEKS. MY PYCH DOC ORDERED TEST AND SAID FOR ME TO COME BACK IN SIX WEEKS. SO I HAVE A WEEK IN A HALF.

BUT I CANT SLEEP. WELL, I DO BUT I HAVE MY DAYS AND NIGHTS MIXED UP. I JUST DONT UNDERSTAND BEING BIPOLAR. THERES THE MANIA AND OTHER THING. I CAN FALL ASLEEP AT LIKE 2 OR 3 IN THE MORNING AND SLEEP ALL DAY LONG IF I AM LET AND THEN AT NIGHT BE TIRED THEN EVER AND STILL NOT BE ABLE TO SLEEP. HMMM... I GUESS I JUST NEED TO UNDERSTAND MY "DISORDER."

SORRY, I KNOW THIS IS POINTLESS BUT I HAD TO VENT. AND THINK I WILL GET GOOD FEEDBACK HERE.
KREET.

hi, I have heard many times on here that lack of sleep won't kill ya. However in seeing a psychiatrist one of the top 4 assessments is sleep. Sleep is necessary.
Anyway you will get alot more responses in the other mental health forum where there are several people who are bipolar. I think it is in the depression forum...but look for shutterbug's journal....she is a fountain of information and wisdom, with the experience of BP and is one of the most helpful, caring persons you will ever meet.
Good luck.
