| Light a candle...
For our loved one's, who we remember everyday, but who's passing is especially painful on the holidays. For those who grieve that they may find peace. and Honoring of our Beloved Deceased At this darkening time of the year, our thoughts turn to things past, to life retreating, to those who are no longer with us. Images come to our minds; of dear companions, who once graced our lives, loved ones whom we miss, persons whose lives made an impact on our lives; of all those who were here, contributing, caring, and are now gone. Our memories bring both joy and sadness; let us not push these feelings away. For our recollections attest to the enduring importance of these friends, this love, our memories. May these brave and lovely spirits live again in our tender thoughts, and prove that death and distance are powerless to sever the bonds that connect truly loving hearts. I invite you to come forward and light your own candle for those who you would honor and remember. |

I light this candle in remembrance of the addict children, Mariam and Jason, who suffer no more, and the partners and loved ones of members here, that those who remain know we stand with them in their grief. I light this candle for a girl named Florence, who fought a good fight but relapsed and died, and for an addict named Fred, who was loved by so many. And for my childhood friend, Robbie, who I loved like a brother. Rest in peace, dear friend. They remain in my heart as they rest in the arms of God.

Remembering D, my son's birth sister, who died Christmas Day two years ago of an overdose. Rest in peace, D.

Lord you have called home one of the best...My friend. I miss you. Bless, O God of eternal life, all who have died by their own hand. Grant them peace from their inner turmoil and the compassion of your love. Comfort those who mourn their loved ones. Strengthen them to face the questions of pain, the guilt and anger, the irreparable loss. Help us to reach out in love to others who prefer death to the choices of life and to their families who grieve. Amen. - Vienna Cobb Anderson |

| For John Crofford
John, you are missed and loved. We lost you 5 years ago today. Although the pain has eased, the void is so very evident. Peace is yours. We miss you still... Now that I am gone, remember me with smiles and laughter. And if you need to cry, cry with your brother or sister who walks in grief beside you. And when you need me, put your arms around anyone and give to them what you need to give to me. There are so many who need so much. I want to leave you something -- something much better than words or sounds. Look for me in the people I've known or helped in some special way. Let me live in your heart as well as in your mind. You can love me most by letting your love reach out to our loved ones, by embracing them and living in their love. Love does not die, people do. So, when all that's left of me is love, give me away as best you can. -- Author unknown Last edited by Wolfstarr; 12-24-2005 at 10:27 PM. |
