| Worldwide Candle Lighting
for childen who left too soon is tonight at 7 PM. Sponsored by Compassionate Friends www.compassionatefriends.org The worldwide Candle Lighting is held every year on the second Sunday in December at 7 PM in every time zone, in remembrance of our children. As candles burn down in one time zone, they are lighted in the next, creating a 24-hour wave of light that encircles the globe. "Candle Lighting" It's time again to light the candles And while we view the burning flames We think of all our beloved children And hear the reading of their names. All who are here have suffered heartbreak We each have felt the crushing pain Our children dead, forever gone We can't forget them, so we came. To grasp a hand, to lend a shoulder With helping friends we all will gain Immense support and understanding And hope ... that we can live again. The candle lighting and remembrance Affirms for us this truth so plain; Our children do live on in our hearts And their love will always remain. ~ by Karen Story, TCF, Montgomery, AL ~ As part of a group or in your own home, if you've lost a child, light a candle tonight. |

I can't even begin to understand what parents may feel. I know it must be more then my thoughts can think it may be like. Prayers for all parents and family members who have lost loved ones because of the disease of drugs and alcohol.

| Candle Lighting Ceromny
My family attended this tonight and it was so comforting. There was about 50 people there, you could feel the love and comfort in the room. It really made us feel like we were doing something special just for Keith. It was also amazing to think this was being done all over the world. It sure makes you feel like you really are not alone. |

Candles still burning for our loved ones.... Lights of Love Can you see our candles Burning in the night? Lights of love we send you Rays of purest white Children we remember Though missing from our sight In honor and remembrance We light candles in the night All across the big blue marble Spinning out in space Can you see the candles burning From this human place? Oh, angels gone before us Who taught us perfect love This night the world lights candles That you may see them from above Tonight the globe is lit by love Of those who know great sorrow, But as we remember our yesterdays Let's light one candle for tomorrow We will not forget, And every year in deep December On Earth we will light candles As.... ............we remember Jacqueline Brown ![]() |

| Thank you for remembering
Hello Everyone-DeeDee and Ann Thank you for remembering my Mariam. Her death anniversary is on 12/19. I miss her so much and there will always be this big hole in my heart. I just keep plugging away at this life. I did change jobs so that I am not constantly working with addicts but now I don't have the daily contact with my dearest friends which is a bummer. I am still in school which is a distraction. .most of the time I just feel like I am going through the motions of living. There really is not much joy or hope except to know that one day we will all be together. My husband continues with his heart problems but is doing ok.. I am powerless. We received the autopsy report etc which I scoured for clues about Mariam's death. Final analysis was septic shock. Please please friends if you ever have to have someone in the hospital make sure people are washing their hands and using antiseptic technique during procedures. ALthough I know Mariam's death was ultimately a result of her addiction we have a major problem in healthcare with staph resistant infections. .and because she was compromised she contracted MRSA. Mariam's little girls are doing ok. We see them often. Their lives are not what I would have for them. Their Dad is loving but not the best provider. But we keep tabs on what is going on and help when we can. And finally no one but a mother knows how painful the loss of a child is. My thoughts and prayers go to you DeeDee and BonnieJean. .and to you dear Ann who continue to wait. ANd thank you WOlfstar for your work on keeping this forum going. Until next time. Love Mo

(((Mo))) I'm so glad you stopped in ... have been wondering how you are. I know the first anniversary of Mariam's death is coming quickly and that it will be an emotional time for you. Please know that you and your family are still in my heart and prayers. "Most of the time I just feel like I am going through the motions of living". This is how I feel too. Pushing myself to get up in the morning, take a shower, get dressed, go to work. *sigh* But there are little bright spots in my life - my grandson, my younger son, my family and friends - and I hold onto them. Take care dear Mo - we are always here if you need us ![]() hugs and love, deedee |

(((Mo))) I think of you so often, Mo, and really miss you. I will think of you again, and Mariam, as the anniversary of her death arrives and light another candle and say a prayer for both of you. I feel very close to your children, Mo and Deedee, just as I know you feel close to my son. We all have walked this road together for so long and I think become family of a sort, and your children will always remain in my heart and my prayers. Their spirits live, even today, in the hearts of moms like me who they never met, yet touched deeply. I love you both. ![]() Hugs and Love Ann

(((Ann))) We are family ... when one of us hurts, all of us hurt. Your son is also close to my heart and always in my prayers. I am willing him to pick up that phone and just call you ... what a gift that would be. Until then, may God keep him safe. love you too ![]() deedee |
