2 years - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

It was 2 years ago today that my father died. He was on vacation in Barbados. He got the flu (or so we thought) and a week later he died. Some days I am still in disbelief. I miss him

He went on vacation with his girlfriend of 6 months, her family and my oldest sister and her family. Girlfriend got really nasty after he died, wouldn't give up Dad's passport (funeral home needed it for ID purposes) stole his jewellery and anything else of value he had on him. She even used his credit card after he died. We ended up contacting a lawyer and were advised to not let her in Dad's house, they said to offer to put her up in a hotel, help her find a place, help her move her belongings. We offered and she refused. She decided to break into Dad's house instead and take whatever she wanted and then filed suit against the estate, me and my siblings. We are going for our second court date tomorrow. We are praying this will be over tomorrow. wether she gets money or not.

My father also left his company to me and my siblings, between Dad's x and learning the ropes with the company (and my AH is an addict) I have not grieved for my father. Every time we talk about my Dad the court case comes up. I need closure, I need to grieve for my father without intrusions.
