Unhappy Starting to feel Sad

Hello. I lost my grandpa in Nov. 2001. It is now 2005 and in Feb it is his birthday. I hate it when it comes to my grandpa's birthday. It has been on my mind for awhile now. I have to work on his birthday so I don't think that will help thinks at all for me. I have so much going on I can't let this keep me down. What helps you get through events like this?
LOve,
Shana

Try shifting your focus from being sad about him being gone to celebrating his life and all the good things he brought into yours.
My Dad passed a few years ago and on his birthday I spend the day remembering all the good things he gave to me and others.
Hugs,
Gabe

Shana

February was my mother's birthday too, and I know what you mean. She was one of the most terrific women I will ever know, and I miss her very much. Something I do, is take some quiet time and talk to her. That may sound silly, but I feel her presence every day as so many things remind me of her, and it helps me to just talk to her and say thank you. Remembering all the good times and all the good things she taught me helps me keep her alive in my heart.

Hugs
Ann

Thanks. I am tryignt o remember all the good things my grandpa did and the good times we had. Ann no it is not silly talking to your mom because i do talk to my grandpa. I go to my grandpa's grave and I just sit there and talk to my grandpa and it helps a lot sometime. Thanks again.
Love,
Shana

Yes, talking to Grampa is a good thing! Talking about him is good in any form...I speak of
my Dad whose birthday and death was in the same month---August. It was over 40 years ago but...I still talk to him and think of him.
Remembering and celebrating his life is a good thing, Shana...he is always with you and you are never alone.
Peace dear one..
